N. Dartmouth, MA --- Junior Chelsey Peso (Uxbridge, MA) along with senior teammates Ali Barrett (Hingham, MA) and Jenna Pickard (Peabody, MA) all placed in the top 100 to help lead Worcester State women's cross country team to 17th overall at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational on Saturday morning.
With 442 team points, the Lancers were just 47 off sliding into the top 15 teams at the meet. Rowan earned the team trophy with a total of 45 points.
Peso placed 32nd (19:48) followed by Barrett's split of 52nd (20:16) and Pickard's time of 93rd (21:08).
Freshman Katherine Becker (Haverhill, MA) notched 129th (22:01) while junior Maggie Ingraham (Danvers, MA) and first-year Melanie Hunter (Maynard, MA) placed 152nd (22:36) and 153rd (22:37), respectively.
Sophomore Amy Defrancesco (Tewksbury, MA) rounded out the group with 205th place (31:42).
The Lancers will compete next week when they host the annual Worcester City Meet at Moore State Park.
