Lincoln, RI --- Freshman Melanie Hunter (Maynard, MA) placed 24th overall to help lead the Worcester State women's cross country team at the Tri-State Invitational hosted by CCRI this afternoon.
Hunter ran a time of 23:23.36 for the sixth fastest time by a first-year student athlete on the course. She was followed by junior Maggie Ingraham (Danvers, MA) who was just one second off in 25th place out of 62 entrants.
The Lancers did not finish with any team scoring as Wheaton won the race with 25 points.
The full Worcester State team will run again next week at the Jim Early Invitational at Stanley Park hosted by Westfield State.
