Westfield, MA --- Junior Chelsey Peso (Uxbridge, MA) has been selected as this week's Co-MASCAC Runner of the Week for a strong performance at the Western New England Invitational this past Saturday.

Peso placed sixth individually as the top MASCAC competitor in a field that featured 190 entrants. Her time of 19:55 was just 42 seconds off the lead as she helped lead the Lancers to finish eighth overall as a team out of 22 institutions at the meet.

Out of the previous four races she has competed in Peso has two finishes in the top 20 and four in the top 55 which has included 14th at the Smith Invitational (20:21.16), 32nd at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational (19:48), 51st place in last week's James Early Invitational at Stanley Park (20:32.15) and third at the Worcester City Meet (20:19.92).

For her efforts at the City Meet on September 28 in leading the Blue and Gold to a runner-up finish for the fourth consecutive season, Peso was honored with weekly MASCAC laurels.

This week Peso shares the conference weekly accolade with Danielle Poto (N. Andover, MA) of Bridgewater State.

The Lancers will take a week off before competing in the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships on November 2 hosted by Southern Maine.
