Westfield, MA --- Senior Chelsey Peso (Uxbridge, MA) and sophomore Erin Beccia (Rutland, MA) both had a pair of top 40 times as the Worcester State women's cross country team finished 13th this morning at the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park.

Out of seven MASCAC schools at todays meet, the Lancers had the third-highest finish among them with 455 points total.

Peso notched 34th overall (19:30.00) followed by Beccia who registered 39th (19:38.07) while senior Maggie Ingraham (Danvers, MA) beat out 424 other entrants for 98th place (20:52.29).

Sophomore Katherine Becker (Haverhill, MA) added 158th (21:44.23), freshman Sara McIsaac (Weymouth, MA) recorded 196th (22:17.46) and sophomore Melanie Hunter (Maynard, MA) crossed the line in 224th (23:00.78).

Freshman Justine Murdocca (Milford, MA) rounded out the top seven with a split of 23:37.83 which was good for 280th.

Next week the Lancers will compete at the Western New England Invitational.
