Women's Cross Country Finishes In 35th Place NCAA Regional Qualifier

 

Adams, MA --- Sophomore Erin Beccia (Rutland, MA) and senior Chelsey Peso (Uxbridge, MA) placed among the top 200 as they both helped pace the Worcester State women's cross country team to 35th overall at the NCAA Division III New England Regional qualifier.

The Lancers were 91 points off being inside the top 30 squads and were fourth among the eight conference teams at the meet. There were 383 total entrants in the 6k race held at Mount Greylock and 54 institutions who scored points from around the region.

Beccia was the top MASCAC finisher in 101st with a time of 24:15.7 followed by Peso who was seventh among league finishers with 157th (25:06.8).

Senior Maggie Ingraham (Danvers, MA) added 240th (26:26.8) followed by sophomore Katherine Becker (Haverhill, MA) who notched 287th (27:27.7) and freshman Sara McIsaac (Weymouth, MA) wasa right off the pace in 289th (27:32.9).

Sophomore Melanie Hunter (Maynard, MA) registered 347th (28:32.3) and rookie Justine Murdocca (Milford, MA) rounded out the top seven with 347th (29:11.4).

Saturday's meet concludes the 2014 campaign for the Lancers.
