Rogers Earns 2017 USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Cross Country All-Region Honors

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's junior cross country runner, Mia Rogers (North Dighton, Mass.) has earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Cross Country All-Region honors for finishing in the top-35 of the NCAA Division III New England Championships this past weekend in Gorham, Maine.

Rogers completed the race in a time of 22:14.1 and came in 31st place in a field of 393 runners this past weekend. She was the second Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) runner to cross the finish line as she ran another superb race, mentioned head coach Gary Jusseaume.

"Mia's training, race preparation and competitive focus for this meet was as intense as ever," said Jusseaume.

Jusseaume went on to say, "This year's performance fell just short of an invite to the NCAA National Championship Meet. The goal now is to prepare Mia this coming year for a top-15 place finish in 2018 and a trip to the national meet. I have every confidence she's poised to achieve that goal."

A total of 280 men and 280 women from 239 programs earned the distinction by finishing among the top-35 runners at one of the eight regional sites across the country. Only athletes from member institutions are eligible.
