WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's freshman Shaylee Puleo (Tewksbury, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women's cross country rookie of the week after earning the MASCAC Rookie of the Year Accolade for being the top rookie finisher at the MASCAC women's cross country meet this past weekend.
Puleo finished the 5K course in a time of 20:06.21 which was good enough for 11th place and a 49-second personal record at the championship this past weekend. With her finish, she helped her team to their first-ever MASCAC team title.
The Lancers will rest this weekend before traveling to Portland, Maine the following weekend to take part in the Division III New England Championship.
