Rogers Completes NCAA Cross Country Championships

WINNECONNE, Wis. - Worcester State University senior Mia Rogers (North Dighton, Mass.) closed out a historic career Saturday with a 123rd place finish at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships at Lake Breeze Golf Club.

Rogers, the first ever Worcester State University student-athlete - male or female - to compete in the NCAA Championships, ran the course in a time of 22:43.5 to finish in 123rd in the the field of 279.

Earlier in the week, she said her first goal was to finish in the top half of the field, a feat she accomplished after beating nearly 56 percent of the field.

She was the only runner from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference to qualify for the NCAA Championships after she finished in 14th place overall at last weekend's NCAA New England Regional. She finished third at the MASCAC Championships last month, helping the Lancers win their second consecutive conference title.
