Mia Rogers Qualifies for NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Senior Mia Rogers (North Dighton, Mass.) of the Worcester State University women's cross country team has been selected to compete in NCAA Cross Country Championships as an individual. The announcement came from the NCAA office on Sunday.

The announcement comes one day after Rogers finished 14th overall out of a field of over 400 runners in Saturday's New England Regional Championships, running a 6k time of 22:21.5.

Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in each the men's and the women's championships. The top two seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 16 teams. Sixteen additional teams were selected at-large. Fifty-six individuals, the first seven student-athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championship.

The championships are scheduled for next Saturday, Nov. 17 at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis. The women's race will get underway at 12:15 p.m. Eastern time.
