August 10, 2015 - Dance Team To Offer Expanded Roster As Part Of Athletics Program
Worcester, MA --- The Athletics Department announced that the Worcester State University Dance Team, which has a consistent record of high participation and success, will be added to the Athletics program, effective August 7, 2015.
The team previously was offered as a student organization. The move was made as part of a reorganization within the department, whereby cheerleading will no longer be offered, and the dance team will be offered within Athletics, rather than as a student club.
August 24, 2014 - Tryout Date For Upcoming Season Announced
Tryouts for the Worcester State Cheerleading Team will be held on Monday, September 8 and Wednesday, September 10 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM in the auditorium of the May Street Building (formerly known as Temple Emmanuel) which is located directly across the street from the South Entrance to WSU.

February 7, 2014 - Spring Schedule Announced
The competition cheerleading squad will participate in three competitions during the month of March. The first will be the Consitution State Classic in East Haven, Connecticut on March 2 and the second will have the Lancers travel to Westfield, Mass for the Spring Time Classic on March 8.
The final date will be the East Coast Classic on March 22 in Providence, Rhode Island.
August 2012 - WSU Cheerleaders Recieve Bid To NCA Nationals
The Worcester State cheerleaders attended NCA College Camp at Boston University this past summer and received a bid to compete against top cheerleading teams from across the country at the National Cheerleading Association competition in the spring.
April 1, 2012 - WSU Cheerleading Wrap Up Spring Season
After several months of practice and sharpening up their stunting, tumbling, flying skills and bonding as a team the Worcester State University Cheerleaders had a strong showing at two competitions over the last month.
The Lancers placed third overall at the Advanced Sprint Spring Time Classic on March 10 and on March 24 the Blue and Gold finished second at the UCDF Pot of Gold Championship.
January 1, 2011 - WSU Cheerleaders Featured On Alumni Magazine Cover
The Worcester State University Cheerleaders were recently featured on the cover of the Fall Issue of the Alumni magazine.
"We figured what better way than to proclaim our new university status than by having our cheerleaders on the cover," said Rachel Faugno, editor of The Statement.
The issue was distributed to more than 32,000 alumni - more than half of which live in the Worcester County area.
