Weeks and Lewis Capture MASCAC Men’s Track & Field Weekly Accolades

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s Sam Weeks (Methuen, Mass.) and Justin Lewis (Lynn, Mass.) have captured Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men’s indoor track & field weekly accolades as they shined in their performances at the Tufts Invitational #1 this past weekend.

 

Weeks was named the Field Athlete of the Week as he finished first in the weight throw and shot put. He had a PR toss of 16.41m to win the weight throw and added a second PR in the shot put with a toss of 15.91m. His marks rank him 7th in the shot put and 12th in the weight throw nationally in NCAA Division III.

 

Lewis earned the Rookie of the Week award as he finished first in the high jump which moved him into a tie for 5th in the national NCAA Division III rankings with a leap of 2.05m. He is ranked in a tie for 3rd on the Division III New England list. Lewis also added a second place finish in the triple jump with a top jump of 12.77m.
