Joan O'Donnell '87
Title: Class of 1998

Joan O'Donnell '87 was an outstanding basketball and softball player for Worcester State. She was a key player on the Lancers team, which won the 1980 National AIAW Division III Championship in basketball. She was the high scorer in the semi-final and championship game when she scored 22 points. Joan scored 659 points in two years to help the team win the Massachusetts State College, the Division II MAIAW, the Division III EAIAW Regional Championships both years.

In 1981, the Lancers finished third in the nation in the Division III AIAW Championships. She is the College's second all-time free throw percentage shooter hitting 113 of 156 attempts for a 72.4 percentage.

She played on two softball teams that compiled a 30-13 record.

She continues to play basketball and has competed in the Greenwood Park Summer League for 29 years. She is employed in production planning at Reed-Rico Manufacturing Co. in Holden and is also employed as a physical therapist assistant.
