Francine Lapierre
Title: Class of 2000

Francine was the pioneer of the Women's Track program at Worcester State College and established a standard of excellence for future athletes who followed her. She competed in both indoor and outdoor track for four years and was a captain of the team her senior year.

She established three college records, which still stand today. She set the indoor standard in the 20 Ib weight throw of 47' 5" at Bates College in 1990, the indoor record for the shot put at Holy Cross College with a throw of 37' 7" in 1989 and the outdoor shot put record of 38' 2" at WPI in 1990.

Her name also appears in the record book in 6th place in the discus and 5th place in the hammer. She is the College's 5th all-time leading scorer with 251 career points.

Francine was an assistant track coach at Worcester State from 1990 to 1993 coaching both men and women in indoor and outdoor track.

She is employed as a procedures clerk at the Worcester Housing Court.
