Patricia (Cushing) Espinosa '03

Patricia (Cushing) Espinosa ’03, who played both soccer and basketball, was named female freshman athlete of the year for the 1998-1999 academic year, and female senior athlete of the year for 2001-2002.
 
Espinosa was a four-year starter on the women’s basketball team, and was named Worcester Area Basketball Coaches Association MVP in 2001 and 2002. She received the women’s basketball Lancer Award in 2000 and was captain in the 2001-2002 season. She is also ranked second for most career games played (105 over four years).
 
She was also a four-year starter on the women’s soccer team and a MASCAC All-Star for all four years. She was also MASCAC Player of the Year in 1999. Espinosa is ranked sixth in all-time point scoring (67) and is ranked fourth in career assists (17) and second in assists in a season (eight).
 
Espinosa joins her father, Donald F. Cushing ’66, who was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 1988, and sister, Maura (Cushing) Hackenson who was inducted in 2006.
