Paz Nabs MASCAC Special Teams Player of the Week Honor

Westfield, MA --- Freshman Sebastian Paz (Orlando, FL/Freedom) has been recognized as this week's MASCAC Special Teams Player of the Week for his contributions in the kicking game in a win against Mass Maritime this past weekend.

Paz connected on all six of his PAT attempts while nailing field goals of 38 and 39 yards in a 48-14 triumph over the Buccaneers.

His 12 points marked the single-highest by a kicker since Erich Perfetti versus Westfield State on September 25, 2010 and the one field goal attempt he missed against Mass Maritime – a 45 yarder – would have been the third longest in program history.

Through the first four weeks of the season, Paz is ranked second in the MASCAC in kick scoring with three made field goals and he has booted all 18 of his PAT bids. In overall scoring, Paz is ranked seventh in the conference standings (77 points).

The Lancers are currently 3-1 (1-1 MASCAC) and are receiving votes in the Division III New England SID/Coaches poll. After a bye this week, they take on Fitchburg State at home on October 11 at 12 PM.
