Tyler Hundley was named the Worcester State University men’s basketball head coach in June of 2018.

The Lancers repeated as regular season and tournament champions in 2023-24. Hundley coached 2 all-conference selections in Aaron Nkrumah (2nd consecutive MASCAC Player of the year) and Ryan Rubenskas. Nkrumah also was an D3hoops.com 4th team All-American, D3hoops.com & NABC 1st team all region selection. Hundley won his second consecutive MASCAC Coach of the year, his third in the last four seasons.

The 2022-23 season was a record breaking one, and is likely the greatest season in program history. The Lancers set records in wins (22), winning pct. (78.6%), consecutive win streak (14) and the first undefeated MASCAC season in program history. The Lancers won the programs second MASCAC Tournament Championship and advanced to their first Division 3 NCAA Tournament since 1994. Hundley coached Conference Player of the Year, D3hoops.com Rookie of the Year, NABC All-Region 1 First Team & D3Hoops.com All-Region 1 Second Team Aaron Nkrumah, and coached 3 all-conference selections in Nkrumah, All-Conference selections Ryan Rubenksas and Erik Bjorn. Hundley won the 2022-23 MASCAC coach of the year, his second in three years.

In 2021-22, Hundley led the lancers to a 16-12 (9-3 MASCAC) record, first time since 1999-00 that the men's basketball program has had consecutive winning seasons, and consecutive MASCAC Tournament Championship game appearances (First time since 2000-01). He coached First-Team All-Conference performers Chris Cardoso and Erik Bjorn, as well as the MASCAC Rookie of the year, Ryan Rubenskas. 

In 2021-22, the Lancers finished 10th in the country in assists per game and set the WSU single season assist record with 523 total assists (18.7 per game), as well as the program's 2nd most 3 pointers made (253), shooting them at 37%. 

During the 2019-2020 season, Hundley led the Lancers to the most MASCAC regular season wins in school history with a league record of 10-2. The Lancers shared the MASCAC Regular Season Championship for the first time since 2000. He coached the All-Conference performers in Tyler Dion (First Team), Chris Cardoso (Second Team), and Erik Bjorn (Second Team), and the team also set the Worcester State single-season 3-point record, netting 259 triples (9.6 per game). At season's end, Hundley was voted the Champion's Choice MASCAC Coach of the Year.

In Hundley's first season at the helm in 2018-19, he led the Lancers to an eight-game win improvement, going 11-15. He coached two All-MASCAC Second Team honorees in Tyler Dion and Shaun McCarthy.

Before Worcester State, Hundley spent three seasons at Keene State. He started as a men’s basketball assistant during the 2015-16 season, and was promoted to associate head coach in the summer of 2016. During his time with Keene State, he played an integral part in the success of the Owls’ basketball program, helping the team reach the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight. In addition to serving as associate head coach, Hundley acted as the recruiting coordinator for the team and was responsible for delegating recruitment activities, maintaining database of communications, and planning visits with prospective student-athletes. Other duties at Keene State included practice planning, on-court coaching, scouting, monitoring academic performance, and organizing an Owls prospect camp.

Prior to Hundley’s time at Keene State, Hundley worked as an assistant coach at both Lasell College and Salve Regina University.

Hundley is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Leisure Management, and was a member of the Warriors team that reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
