Men's Soccer Dropped by Eastern Nazarene

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester State University men's soccer team conceded three first half goals on Monday night, falling to Eastern Nazarene College 3-0 in non-conference action at Coughlin Field.

With the loss, the Lancers drop to 0-2-0 on the season, while the Lions improve to 1-1-0.

The Lions found the back of the net twice in the seventh minute of the contest to quickly take control of the match. Leon Zaffonato and Charlie Swann found the back of the net just 15 seconds apart to put the Lions ahead 2-0 right from the jump.

Jose Ruiz jumped in on the fun, adding a goal in the 38th minute to extend Eastern Nazarene's lead to 3-0 before the half. The visitors outshot Worcester State 11-3 in the opening half to take the three-goal advantage.

The Lions only outshot Worcester State by a margin of 6-5 in the second half, but the damage was already done, and the visitors secured their first victory of the season.
