Cross Country Competition Schedule Announced for 2019

2019 Worcester State Cross Country Schedule

WORCESTER, Mass. - The 2019 competition schedule has been announced for the Worcester State University men's and women's cross country teams.

The schedule features four regular season meets and three postseason meets, including two meets hosted by Worcester State at Paxton's Moore State Park.

Worcester State opens its season by hosting the Worcester City Meet on Saturday, September 7. Both the men's and women's teams finished in second place at the 2018 Worcester City Meet.

The Lancers will also travel to the Purple Valley Classic hosted by Williams College, the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State, and the Western New England University Invitational for other regular season meets on the season.

With the women's team looking to defend its conference title, the Lancers will return to Moore State Park to host the MASCAC Championships on Saturday, November 2. Then-junior Elisabeth Olson (Wilmington, Mass.) won first place at the meet last season to be named Runner of the Year, while Drew Fottler (Chelmsford, Mass.) won Rookie of the Year on the men's side.

The Division III New England Regional Championships are scheduled for two weeks later, Saturday, November 16, at Pickard Fields in Brunswick, Maine. The top competitors at the Regional will compete on November 23 at the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky.

"We are excited by the increased level of competition that this year's schedule will be providing," said Worcester State head coach DJ Raboin. "We will all be striving to achieve both our individual and team goals and hope that the Lancer community can share our journey with us."

Results will be available on WSULancers.com as soon as possible at the completion of each event. For live updates throughout the season, be sure to follow @WSULancers on Twitter and @WSU_Lancers on Instagram.
