PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Worcester State University women's tennis sophomore Dominique Alves (Ludlow, Mass.) has been named to the Little East Conference (LEC) All-Conference First Team in singles. The announcement came from the conference office on Wednesday morning.

Alves finished the season with a 10-4 singles record from the number one position, including a 7-2 record in LEC play. Her ten wins were tied for the team lead. She added three additional wins with her double teammates Monika Mularski (Auburn, Mass.) as she helped the Lancers go 6-8 overall and 4-5 in LEC matches.

Alves now has a career record of 20-6 in singles in her first two years as a Lancer, including a 14-2 record in the Little East. Eight of those wins came during a eight-match win streak this season, seven of which she won in straight sets.

The major year-end LEC women’s tennis awards were given to Anastasia Startseva of Salem State, as she won both Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Coach of the Year was awarded to Adam Spring of Rhode Island College for the second consecutive year.
