Women's Tennis Takes Care of Western Connecticut

DANBURY, Conn. - The Worcester State University women's tennis team defeated Western Connecticut State University 7-2 in Little East Conference action at the Westside Tennis Courts.

Worcester State took a 2-1 lead into singles play with wins at second and third doubles. Sophomore Charlotte Mullane (Sterling, Mass.) and Emma Collings (Marion, Mass.) won 8-4 at second doubles, while Bekah Riley (Ellington, Conn.) and Monika Mularski (Auburn, Mass.) won 8-3 at third doubles.

The Lancers dominated singles play, winning five of the six matches to claim the match. Collings, Mularski, and Mullane all grabbed their second wins of the afternoon in singles play, while Dominique Alves (Ludlow, Mass.) and Victoria Konicki (Auburn, Mass.) also grabbed wins to lift the Lancers over the Colonials.

Worcester State will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to UMass Boston in LEC action.
