Stephen Ferris was announced as the head coach of the Lancer women’s tennis program in the summer of 2018.

Ferris brings a significant amount of coaching experience to Chandler Street and a straight forward philosophy on coaching. Coach Ferris believes in smart and hard practice, taking control of what you can control and tuning out the distractions.

In announcing the hire, Mudd noted, “We are excited to add Coach Ferris to our athletic department.  He will provide our women’s tennis team an experienced coach who has mentored many high level players at the high school and collegiate level.”

Ferris, who was the longtime owner of Westborough Tennis and Swim Club, also served as the head boy’s tennis coach at Westborough High School from 2012 until 2016.

Ferris is also an experienced lacrosse coach at both the collegiate and high school levels having assisted the men’s lacrosse program at Clark University as well as freshman, junior varsity and varsity levels at a number of high schools.  Ferris is currently also the head freshman boy’s lacrosse coach at St. John’s.

Ferris is a graduate of Babson College where he was a three year member of the varsity men’s lacrosse program.
