WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's junior setter Allie Nolan (Melrose, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women's volleyball player of the week after helping her team to its first conference title this past weekend.
Nolan, who was named the tournament MVP, averaged 39.5 assists (11.29 per set) with 15 digs, four block assists, three kills and three service aces during the tournament.
She had 39 assists, six digs and two service aces in the 3-0 semifinal win over Bridgewater State, including her 1,000th assist this season. Nolan finished with 40 assists, nine digs, four block assists, three kills and a service ace in the 3-1 championship game win over Framingham State.
Nolan stands at 1st in assists (1,077) and assists per set (9.45) in the conference.
This week, the team heads to Atlanta, Georgia to take part in the NCAA Division III women's volleyball tournament. The Lancers are scheduled to play against Emory on Thursday (Nov. 9) at 8 p.m. Live statistics and live video will be available.
