  • 196 Lancers named to MASCAC Fall/Winter All-Academic Team
    February 01, 2024
    Westfield, MA — A total of 1,390 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall/Winter 2023 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.

    WESTFIELD, Mass. – 58 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2023 Fall Sportsmanship Team.
  • Adams named to NFHCA All-Region Second Team

    GENEVA, N.Y. — This year over 190 Division III student-athletes have been named to NFHCA Division III All-Region teams sponsored by The LineUp. Division III teams are separated into six regions: Region I, Region II, Region III, Region IV, Region V, and Region VI. Each of these regions recognizes up to 16 student-athletes on both the first team and the second team.
  • Adams Leads Field Hockey All-Conference Honors, 5 Named to MASCAC Teams

    Worcester, MA- Senior Grace Adams (Leominster, MA) leads the MASCAC in their inaugural end of season awards as Adams was named the 2023 MASCAC Offensive Player of the Year as voted on by the conference coaches at the end of the season. Five Lancers were named to the MASCAC First and Second Teams in their first year as a conference.
  • Lancers Fall in NCAA First Round to Ephs

    Worcester, MA. - - The Worcester State Field Hockey travelled to Williamstown, MA this evening to take on the host Williams College in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. After toppling Framingham State on Sunday afternoon 2-0, the Lancers were looking towards their first NCAA trip since 2019.
  • Parker and Morin Claim MASCAC Players of the Week

    Worcester, MA- In the inaugural MASCAC Field Hockey Championship, the Worcester State Lancers claimed a 2-0 victory over Framingham State. Named the Championship MVP was first year Maddie Parker (Leominster, MA) after an incredible defensive save would keep the score at 0-0 in the third quarter. Parker, in recognition of her defensive prowess was named this week’s MASCAC Defensive and Rookie of the week alongside junior Natalya Morin (Barre, MA) who knocked in both game winning goals in the Lancers two post season competitions.
  • Worcester State Field Hockey Claims Inaugural MASCAC Field Hockey Championship

    Worcester, MA- The #1 Worcester State Lancers faced off against the #3 Framingham State Rams in the inaugural MASCAC field hockey championship on John F. Coughlin Memorial Field. Worcester State claimed the season advantage on the Rams with two wins against them in the regular season.
  • Adams Hat Trick Sends Lancers to Inaugural MASCAC Championship Game

    Worcester, MA- The #1 Seed Lancers Field Hockey and #4 Seed Vikings looked to continue their history-making seasons on Friday night on John F. Coughlin Field. Worcester State has claimed the previous two meetings between the teams this season, the first a 3-2 overtime victory in Salem, and the most recent, this past Monday, saw them claim the 3-0 victory on Coughlin.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey Team had two named to this weeks MASCAC Weekly honors as seniors Grace Adams (Leominster, MA) and Sam Gastonguay (Ashburnham, MA) picked up offensive and defensive honors.
  • Lancers Lock Up MASCAC Regular Season Champions On Senior Night

    The Worcester State Lancers (10-6, 8-1 MASCAC) faced off against the Salem State Vikings (6-9, 4-5 MASCAC) in a crucial conference matchup with the Lancers playing to secure the one seed in the playoffs. Tonight’s game is senior night where a pre-game ceremony was held in honor of Zoe Athanasopoulos (Hopedale, Mass.), Grace Adams (Leominster, Mass.), Emma Thomson (Agawam, Mass.), and Sam Gastonguay (Ashburnham, Mass.). FINAL: Lancers 3 Salem St. 0
  • Adams Hat Trick Leads Lancers to Victory over Rams

    Worcester, MA - The Worcester State Lancers traveled to Framingham to play the Rams in a rematch battle against another top 4 team in the MASCAC. This game is crucial for overall seeding and if the Lancers win the evenings match they would claim a piece of the regular season championship and a possible number one seed heading into the postseason. The penultimate game before homecoming looked to be a captivating match with high stakes for the Lancers. 
  • Adams Goal Wins It in OT For The Lancers

    Worcester, MA- After 7 days off from their last game and conference win, the Worcester State field hockey team traveled to Fitchburg State for a rematch with their conference rival on the Falcons senior day. Worcester State won the previous matchup, 5-1, in a game that honored senior Sam Gastonguay’s (Ashburnham, MA) legacy in both communities.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers looked to rebound from their first conference loss in a rematch with Bridgewater State at the John F. Coughlin Field on the Worcester State University campus. The last time these two teams faced Lancers sneaking in a 2-0 victory over the Bears.

    Worcester, MA - The Worcester State Lancers traveled to play in a rematch battle against the Westfield State Owls in Westfield Wednesday night. The last two games for the field hockey team have seen overtime period action and both have had a scoreline that reads 3-2 in favor of  Worcester State. Today's game had a scheduled 7 pm start time to see if Worcester could grab two wins in the regular season over the Owls.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers (2-4)(1-0) took a trip to face off against the Bridgewater State Bears (2-3-1)(0-1) for an early fall Saturday morning conference matchup. 
  • Lancers Fall in Comeback Bid To Gulls

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team looked to extend their winning streak to 3, and reach .500 on the season  as they travel to battle the Gulls from Endicott College for a non-conference affair. The Lancers are coming off a home victory Tuesday night as they beat Wheaton 2-1 at home under the Coughlin Lights. 
  • Adams and Athanasopoulos Duo Push Lancers to Victory over Lyons

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team was back in action after a historic win last Friday, looking to claim win number two on the season. The Lancers met up with the Wheaton Lyons on John F. Coughlin field in a non-conference  Tuesday night battle.
  • Ferrara Named MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team has one named to the MASCAC weekly honors, as junior Madison Ferrara (Somerset, MA) was named the MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week. Ferrara held down the cage in the Lancers 4-0 victory over Westfield State on September 15th. The game also served to kick off the inaugural season of the MASCAC Field Hockey conference.
  • Worcester State Claims First Win in the First MASCAC Field Hockey Match Up

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team returned to a windy John F. Coughlin Field of the Worcester State University campus tonight to kick off the first ever MASCAC Field Hockey game. Both Westfield and Worcester State were previously members of the Little East Conference, with this season being the inaugural season of the MASCAC sponsoring field hockey. Both teams were coming off of recent losses and were hoping to add a win to the column. 
  • Lancers Fall in Back-and-Forth Battle With Keene

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team under first-year head coach Sophia Monopoli traveled to Keene State tonight to play Keene in a non conference weekend match up with former LEC rivals Keene State. The Lancers were looking to capture their first win of the season as they moved closer to a conference slate of games.
