Worcester, MA- For the third time this season Worcester State’s Women’s Basketball’s Lena Waldron (Quincy, MA) has been tabbed as the MASCAC Rookie of the Week. She has been selected Rookie of the Week for the conference each week, minus one so far on the young season.
Waldron Averaged 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in two games for the Lancers. She finished with 14 points and seven rebounds in the 76-56 setback to New England College then added nine points, six rebounds and an assist in the 59-50 setback to Wellesley. Waldron has recorded 81 points thus far in her rookie season, with 54 rebounds and 12 steals.
Senior Katie Hurynowicz (Tyngsboro, MA) was honored in the MASCAC honor roll after averaging 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in two games for the Lancers. Had 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in the 76-56 setback to New England College.
Worcester State is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Springfield College for a 7pm tip-off before returning home on Saturday to face Salve Regina at 1pm.
