Westfield, MA — A total of 1,005 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection
to the league’s Winter/Spring 2024 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.
By the time Nick Pennucci was five years old, he was already skating and learning to play ice hockey, an activity that would quickly grow into a lifelong passion.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Hockey (8-17, 7-14) team traveled to their first-round playoff game to square up with the UMass-Dartmouth Corsairs (15-10, 13-8). The Lancers are the 6th seed in this year's MASCAC tournament. Last season, the team hit the 12-win mark and played in the final against Plymouth State and were looking for a chance to head back to Plymouth State with a victory over the Corsairs. Recent form has seen the Lancers average 3.5 goals per game while only conceding 1.75, and they were hoping to keep that trend going tonight.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team has two named to this weeks MASCAC honors as junior Jakub Kubik (Uherske Hradiste, Czech Republic) and first year Michael Schaaf (Nashua, NH) took home the honors. Kubik would end the week with the MASCAC Goalie of the Week while Schaaf was named Rookie of the Week.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers (7-17, 6-14 MASCAC) faced off against the MCLA Trailblazers (7-16-1, 5-14-1 MASCAC) in a critical matchup with the winner advancing to the conference playoffs with a victory.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers (6-17, 5-14 MASCAC) faced off against the Salem State Vikings (6-16-1, 6-12-1 MASCAC) on the road in a critical conference matchup, the Lancers needing to win their last two games for a shot at the playoffs.
The season series is currently split at 1-1. The Lancers convincingly defeated Salem on the road 5-2 in late November. The Vikings retaliated with a win of their own at the Worcester Ice Center 4-0 a month ago.

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers (6-16, 5-13) hit the road Saturday when they traveled north to Fitchburg State to take on the Falcons (11-9-2, 10-6-2) in a key MASCAC battle.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (6-15, 5-12) hosted the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth (12-9, 10-7) in their first annual inaugural Dog Toy Toss to support the Worcester Animal Rescue League. Toys were sold and donations collected prior to the start of the game, with the toss set to occur after the Worcester State Lancers goal of the game. Worcester, who just came off an upset win over currently fourth seeded Westfield State, looked to add another consecutive win to their column in a pivotal rematch with the Corsairs.

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers (5-14, 4-11 MASCAC) faced off against the Framingham State Rams (7-11, 7-8 MASCAC) at Loring Arena in Middlesex County for a crucial conference matchup that could impact playoff seeding.
Entering tonight, the three-game series between these two teams is tied up at 1-1. Worcester got the best of the Rams in the first matchup on the road, outscoring the opponent 5-1 in early November. Nearly a month later, the Lancers dropped the second game at home by a score of 2-0.

The Lancers have lost the last two matchups this year and look to deal Plymouth their first conference loss of the season.

Worcester, MA- After over a month away the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey (4-11, 3-8) team returns to the Fidelity Bank Ice Center. In the Thursday night showdown, the Lancers will be playing host to MASCAC current 3rd seed Fitchburg State Falcons (7-6-2, 6-3-2) in a pivotal conference battle. Worcester looks to rebound from a hard loss versus UMass-Dartmouth last Saturday that saw them gain a point in overtime action but drop to the Corsairs 4-3.
Worcester, MA- Following a close battle with Westfield State this past Thursday, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey (4-10, 3-7) were looking for the first conference victory of 2024. In their previous matchup with UMass-Dartmouth (8-6, 6-4), the Lancers fell 4-1 in a penalty fueled matchup. Worcester entered the night's game aimed at revenge for the early season loss.

The Lancers are coming off their first Cod Fish Bowl game victory, looking to sustain their momentum into their return to MASCAC play, while the Owls narrowly lost to Plymouth State last Saturday, as this game looks to heat up the playoff battle in the conference seedings.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team returned to action in the 58th Annual Cod Fish Bowl Saturday afternoon when they took on the Suffolk University Rams in the consolation match of the kick off tournament of 2024.
Worcester, MA- The Lancers (3-8, 3-6 MASCAC) traveled east to Dorchester for their first matchup of the New Year against the Umass Boston Beacons (4-7-2, 3-5-0 NEHC) in the 58th playing of the yearly Codfish Bowl.
The Codfish Bowl originated in 1965 as an alternative to the Beanpot for lower-division schools to participate in and is the second longest-running hockey tournament in the country. Umass Boston has hosted the tournament since 1982. This will be the Lancers third appearance in the tournament where they are joined by Suffolk University (2-10-1, 1-6-1 NEHC) and Connecticut College (3-5-1, 2-4 NESCAC) for the 2024 showdown.
It has been nearly a month since we’ve seen the Lancers in action with their last game being played on Dec. 9 before the winter break.

Worcester, MA - The Lancers of the Men’s Ice hockey team played a high energy game Saturday night against the Westfield State Owls in a MASCAC conference game in Worcester.
Worcester, MA- The Lancers were back in conference action Thursday night as they looked to continue their recent conference success as they have won the last two contested battles. Worcester comes into the game currently at (3-6-0, 3-4-0) after dropping a rescheduled WooCup battle with the Nichols Bison on Tuesday evening. The Rams come into the night with an identical record after beating Fitchburg State last Saturday. The matchup could have post season implications, with the Lancers grabbing the first win of the season versus Framingham at a score of 5-1.
Worcester, MA- The Lancers came into the contest off a 3-5 conference win over MCLA this past Saturday, as they headed to Burrillville, RI to take on the Nichols Bison in the postponed WooCup Consolation matchup. Nichols, coming off a loss of their own, had a 2-5 record as both teams looked to have a solid midweek win before important conference games later in the week.

Worcester, MA- After over a week off since last hitting the ice, the Worcester State Lancers (1-5-0, 1-4-0) journey to Salem, MA (3-4-0, 3-2-0) to take on conference foe Salem State as they look to grab their second win of the season.
Worcester, MA- In a final match before the Thanksgiving break, the Lancers travelled north to Plymouth State in a rematch with the conference’s top seeded Plymouth State. The first meeting of these two teams saw the Panthers come away with a 9-1 victory. Worcester looked to settle the score in their second of three regular season matches the team will have this season.
