Buzzards Bay, MA --- A new era in gridiron excitement is set to begin shortly for the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, as football will become the league’s newest championship sport beginning with the 2013-14 academic year.
New Haven, CT --- Former Worcester State three-year starter and Defensive Coordinator Tony Reno has been selected as the next head coach at Yale University. As a coach, Reno helped lead the Lancers to consecutive ECAC Playoff Bowl berths in 2001-02.
Worcester, MA --- Ten student-athletes have been named to the Steve "Merc" Morris Worcester Area Football All-Star Team in a selection by the eight Worcester sports information directors while first-year standout Tyler Asam was honored as the Defensive Rookie of the Year and head coach Brien Cullen received billing as the Coach of the Year.
Minneapolis, MN --- Senior Cliff Oratokhai has received a nod to the D3football.com All-East region team in a vote by the regions Sports Information Directors and website staff. Oratokhai, who was recognized as a Third-Team cornerback, was one of five from the NEFC on the prestigious squad.
Worcester, MA --- Senior Marcus Price is one of five players from New England selected to play in this week’s Division III North-South Senior All-Star Classic in Salem, Virginia. The game is slated for a 7 PM start on Friday and features a nationally broadcast webcast in conjunction with Fox College Sports.

Middletown, RI --- Worcester State was handed a 26-6 setback by Salve Regina this afternoon in the ECAC Division III Northwest Bowl. In WSU's first bowl game since the 2003 season, the Lancers were held to just 173 yards of total offense. They were paced by junior Bryan Narcisse who had 12 tackles, one sack and a pair of tackles for a loss.

Tokarz threw for career-best 298 yards with four scores and the game-winning 48-yard TD pass early on in the fourth quarter.

Senior Kenny Russell went over the 1,000 yard mark for his career as he is now eighth on the all-time list.

Senior Ray St. Laurent highlighted the defeat for the Lancers with a career-best 14 tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery.

Westfield, MA --- Senior Marcus Price scored the game-tying touchdown in the third and final overtime while carrying 37 times for 149 yards, as Worcester State held on for a wild 42-40 victory over Westfield State in NEFC play this afternoon.
Middletown, CT --- The Worcester State Football team has been slotted fifth, tied with Trinity, in the first Division III New England Football Poll of the season. With three straight victories, the Lancers have started the season 3-0 for the first time since the 2002 season.
