Price To Play In Division III North-South Senior Classic

Worcester, MA --- Senior Marcus Price (Worcester, MA/Doherty) is one of five players from New England selected to play in this week's Division III North-South Senior All-Star Classic in Salem, Virginia. The game is slated for a 7 PM start on Friday and features a nationally broadcast webcast in conjunction with Fox College Sports.

Price earned All-NEFC Bogan Division honors for the second-straight season as he broke single-season school records with 230 rushes for 1,230 yards (123.0 yards per game). Price ended the year third in the NEFC in average and total while it is currently 15th and 19th, respectively, in this past week's NCAA Division III statistical standings.

Price ended his three-year career as a Lancer with 594 rushes, 2,839 yards and 19 touchdowns. Price's rushing yardage is the second highest total in the record book – 163 yards off the top spot held by Greg Wood (2001-03).

He also finished his career fifth on the all-purpose yardage list (3,108 yards) and tied for ninth on the all-time scoring list (120 points).

In addition to Price, Framingham State's James McCarthy (Newton, MA – QB) and Curry's Brian Kuerta (Beverly, MA – OL) both received invitations to play in the prestigious game while Springfield teammates Josh Carter (Marlboro, MA – QB) and Sean Meagher (Cape Elizabeth, ME – OL) were also chosen. The Curry College coaching staff led by head coach Skip Bandini will guide this years North squad.

Price is the second-straight Worcester State student-athlete to receive an invitation to the prestigious game as standout linebacker Tyler Russell took the trip down to Salem last season.

Under the guidance of head coach Brien Cullen, the Lancers finished the campaign at 8-3, their first winning season since 2004.
