Mission: To provide students, faculty and staff with the opportunity to participate in a variety of competitive recreational sports in a safe environment; to promote and provide quality service, facilities and equipment; to facilitate the opportunity for enjoyable experiences; to nurture and celebrate the wholesome and worthwhile use of leisure, healthy lifestyles and wellness; and to create opportunities for the growth and development of all stakeholders.
The WSU Intramural Sports Program supports the mission by providing structured activities to enhance the quality of life for students, faculty and staff. The intramural program gives students the opportunity to be competitive and have fun without the demands of being involved in a varsity sport.
IMleagues.com/WorcesterState is where you will find all the sport offerings. Teams and individuals must create and finalize their rosters by the end of registration to be placed on the schedule for their sport. CLICK HERE to learn more about registration.
All teams must designate a captain who will be responsible for their teams’ play and also communicate the rules and regulations of the sport. A captains meeting will be held before the beginning of each season for each team to meet with the officials and also the Intramural Director to go over rules and expectations of participants. Game schedules will be published through IMleagues and also available on the IMLeagues App which can be downloaded to your mobile phone. There are no fees to participate.
The rules provide the opportunity to have competitive fair play at all times. All students, faculty, and staff are eligible to participate. The following exceptions are in effect:
- Any individual currently on an intercollegiate team may not participate in the sport they are involved with.
- Any individual/team who violates any building policy and/or the Student Code of Conduct will be suspended (from Intramurals) until a meeting has been conducted with the Intramural Director.
Please note there is an emphasis on the Worcester State Code of Conduct which includes prohibition of disruption or obstruction of a Worcester State University activity, conduct that threatens or endangers the health and saftey of others including, but not limited to physical abuse and verbal abuse as well as contuct that is disorderly and disturbing the peace.
