WESTFIELD, Mass. – 29 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2016 Winter Sportsmanship Team.
STATEN ISLAND, NY - Duy Truong (Worcester, Mass.) placed fourth in the 60 Meter Hurdles in 8.30, scoring five points for Worcester State at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. He also came in 10th place in the men’s long jump for a distance of 6.44m.
WORCESTER, Mass. – Alex Santos (Lawrence, Mass.) of the men’s basketball team and Sam Weeks (Methuen, Mass.) of the men’s indoor track & field team earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) weekly awards for the week ending Feb. 29.
BOSTON – Junior Sam Weeks (Methuen, Mass.) marked a seventh place finish in the shot put event at the All New England Championships at Boston University this weekend (Feb. 27). He was one of two Division III finishers in the top eight, notching a personal record at 15.44m.
DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced Worcester State’s Marcus Vieira (Peabody, Mass.) the Corvias ECAC Division III New England Men’s Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week for the week ending Feb. 22. This is Vieira’s second time this season earning this honor.
WORCESTER, Mass. – Three Worcester State University student-athletes of the men’s basketball and men’s indoor track & field teams have earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) weekly awards for the week ending Feb. 21.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Worcester State University men’s indoor track & field team placed 14th at the Division III New England Championships this weekend, ahead of the three competing MASCAC teams, Fitchburg, Westfield, and Bridgewater State.
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Worcester State University’s Sam Weeks (Methuen, Mass.) and Jared Barros (Taunton, Mass.) were crowned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) champions in their respective events Saturday afternoon. The men’s indoor track & field team took a second place finish in the MASCAC Championship, and fifth in the Alliance Championship which included teams from the Little East Conference (LEC).

BOSTON – A group of the men’s indoor track & field team traveled to Boston this weekend (Jan. 29-30) to compete in the 2016 Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic – a meet that primarily consisted of NCAA Division I level student-athletes. They contested amongst some highly competitive schools at this meet.
