Samara and Condon Receive MASCAC Weekly Honors
Worcester, MA- Two Worcester State Women’s Soccer players received player of the week accolades after defeating Salem St in a resounding 3-0 victory on Saturday afternoon. Senior Haley Samara (Worcester, MA), named Player of the Week, and first year Erin Condon, Rookie of the Week, were honored after each nabbed 4 points in the game.
Spotlight: Erin Condon and Freshman Success
Worcester State women's soccer has been led offensively by three key players this season. A look at the team leaders in points will show a senior in first place and another senior in third place, but rounding out the top three is Erin Condon, a freshman from East Bridgewater, Mass. who has made the transition into collegiate level soccer look easy.
Women's Soccer Announces 2023 Schedule
Worcester, MA- Head Coach Kevin Cumberbatch announces the release of the 2023 Worcester State Women’s Soccer schedule. The 2023 season will be Cumberbatch’s 16th at the helm, where he looks to continue his perennial success in his bid for a return to the NCAA Tournament. The Lancers squad concluded the 2022 season at 6-10-2, 4-3 in the MASCAC, dropping a tight battle to Westfield Stat in the MASCAC semifinals. The team returns a skillful and young cast of players after graduating from a large senior class last season. The team returns MASCAC Rookie of the Year Erin Condon as she aims to continue her first-year success with a stellar sophomore performance. Ready to work alongside Condon will be the duo of senior midfielder Riley Patenaude and junior attacker Raelyn Callahan along with a strong set of underclassmen ready to ensure the success of the season.
