Men's Soccer Announces 2023 Schedule
Worcester, MA- Head Coach Aidan Abolfazli announces the release of the 2023 schedule of the MASCAC Champion Worcester State Men’s Soccer team. The 2023 season will be the third season for Abolfazli, who led the third seeded Lancers to the MASCAC Championship last season, where they defeated the fourth seeded Bridgewater State in penalty kicks to bring home the championship and NCAA bid. The 2023 season will look to continue the success of last year as they bid to return to the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row. The team will be aided in their quest by MASCAC Champion MVP Andy Ramirez, conference First Team All-Conference selection Manny Ramirez and dominant junior forward Mal Hawkins along with a breath of talent in not only their returners, but incoming additions to the program.
Iovanni named MASCAC Rookie of the Week
Worcester, MA- Worcester State Men’s Soccer first year, Brady Iovanni (Lunenburg, MA), was named Rookie of the Week for the MASCAC after a dominate performance in their game on Saturday against conference rival Westfield State.
Worcester State Men’s Soccer has Three Named to MASCAC All-Conference
Worcester, MA- The current MASCAC Champions had three of their own named to All-Conference teams as announced by the MASCAC on Wednesday afternoon. The Lancers see two, junior Manny Ramirez (Waltham, MA) and junior Matt Alzamora (Holden, MA) selected for First Team honors while graduate student Alexander Papageorgiou (Tewksbury, MA) was named to the Second Team.
Worcester State Men's Soccer Championship Preview
Worcester, MA- Morning Worcester State has had another Fall Athletic Programs make it to the MASCAC Championship Game! For the first time since the 2016-17 season, the Worcester State Lancers Men’s Soccer program will have a chance to punch its ticket to the NCAA Tournament. The team looking to stall the celebration on Sunday afternoon are the Bridgewater State Bears, who were able to play the Lancers to a 0-0 draw when the teams met on Oct. 8. Below are three keys that the Lancers need to focus on to put themselves in a favorable position to lift a championship trophy on John F. Coughlin Memorial Field Sunday afternoon.
