As a result of a collaborative decision made by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, Worcester State University Board of Trustees, and the Worcester State University Administration classes, events, and more importantly the Wellness Center will be closed beginning Saturday, March 14, 2020 until further notice in response to COVID-19. This will include the Indoor Walking Track, DeFeudis Fitness Center, Open Recreation, Group Exercise Classes, Korzec Golf Simulator, Locker Room Use, and the Lancer (Smoothie) Lounge.
No membership purchases are available at this time. If you are a current member, we understand that this impacts your privileges. Based on your valid dates of membership, we will arrange to extend all memberships based on the impact of this closure. If you have any questions you can email

Bike Rental

In collaboration with Worcester State University Advancement, and the Binienda Center for Civic Engagement the Wellness Center now offers a bike rental program. Whether it is a casual ride into the City of Worcester, or a quick trip to CVS or the grocery store- we have you covered!


In order to utilize the bikes on AND off campus a membership will need to be purchased either in person or through the Wellness Center Portal. Membership fees are collected to ensure that the bikes are continually maintained and in great working order.

Students $10 Semester
  $20 Academic Year
Faculty/Staff $15 Semester
  $25 Academic year

Replacement cost if lost, stolen, not returned, or damaged beyond repair is $200.00.



Bikes can be checked out for as little as an hour, or up to 3 days. During its checkout, the rider will be required to wear the helmet provided AND make sure the bike is appropriately locked in a proper location when not in use. Member will be responsible for returning the bike in the same condition that it was check out in. Normal wear and tear is expected.


Checking Out/In a Bike

All bikes are checked out and in beginning from the Wellness Center during normal hours of operation. During check out (after you have a valid membership) you will be issued a kit. The kit will include your helmet, and a lock combination associated with your assigned bike. The bike(s) are located outside of the Student Center, under the awning. Upon returning the bike, based on your check out period, you will be asked to report any issues with the bike so that any necessary repairs can be made.
