As a result of a collaborative decision made by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, Worcester State University Board of Trustees, and the Worcester State University Administration classes, events, and more importantly the Wellness Center will be closed beginning Saturday, March 14, 2020 until further notice in response to COVID-19. This will include the Indoor Walking Track, DeFeudis Fitness Center, Open Recreation, Group Exercise Classes, Korzec Golf Simulator, Locker Room Use, and the Lancer (Smoothie) Lounge.
No personal training purchases are available at this time. If you are a client, we understand that this impacts your training. Based on your valid sessions remaining, we will arrange to extend all expiration dates based on the impact of this closure. If you have any questions you can email

Personal trainers are available for students, faculty*, staff*, alumni and the community (*who are members OR non-members of the DeFeudis Fitness Center). The guidelines and rates are outlined below AND purchased in person at the Front Desk or via the Online Portal after you have logged in (click on the Personal Training icon). Our goal is to educate and empower students and members/non-members on how to properly use and incorporate important aspects of fitness and conditioning in their life, while attaining realistic goals. Looking for a Fitness Orientation? We offer a customized tour and hands on walk through of the DeFeudis Fitness Center. Get your questions answered on how to use the machines properly. We can also complete some Wellness related assessments including; Body Composition, Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, Cardiorespiratory Endurance and Flexibility. Dress for light activity. Scheduling: Each prospective client should complete the Client Information Packet. Completed packets should be returned to the Fitness Center Manager after payment is given/processed. If a physician’s clearance is required, there may be a slight delay in the start of training. A fitness assessment will be provided with the purchase of a Personal Training Session/Package. This may include: a health risk assessment, blood pressure screening, resting and exercise heart rate, body composition analysis, muscular strength and endurance testing, flexibility testing and goal setting. Sessions will be scheduled based on the availability of the client and the desired/assigned trainer, as well as, the operating hours of the DeFeudis Fitness Center.

Client Cancellation Policy: Clients who are unable to attend a scheduled session should call their trainer to cancel. In the event that the trainer cannot be reached, leave a message for the Fitness Center Manager at 508-929-8291 at least 24 hours in advance. If the client does not call at least 24 hours in advance, they will be charged for the scheduled session.

Lateness Policy: Trainers are only obligated to wait 15 minutes for their clients. After 15 minutes have passed, the trainer is not required to lead the session, and the client will be charged a session. If sessions do start late, they will still be completed one hour from the original, scheduled start time.

Session Length & Check In: Personal Training sessions are either 30 minutes OR 60 minutes in length. Upon arrival to the Fitness Center please let the control desk staff know you are present for a training session.  

Package Expiration: All personal training sessions expire 3 months from the date of purchase.

  6. Review your Shopping Cart, and click Check Out
  7. Complete/Process Your payment
  8. Receipt will be emailed

Personal training and instruction is limited to Athletics and Wellness Center employeed staff. Instruction for pay or trade by outside entities is strictly prohibited and could jeopardize membership privileges for all parties involved.
