WESTFIELD, Mass. - Worcester State University landed a conference-best 209 student-athletes on the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Fall/Winter 2019 All-Academic Team.

Student-athletes who compete in championship varsity sports offered by each of the MASCAC institutions during the course of the Fall and Winter 2019 athletic season and have achieved a 3.20 cumulative or semester-based grade point average during the semester are eligible for selection to the Fall/Winter All-Academic Team.

Bridgewater State placed second in the conference with 200 student-athletes, while Westfield State was third with 170.

All 15 Worcester State fall and winter sports were represented on the All-Academic Team. The women's cross country team had the highest percentage of its roster earn the honor, as 95 percent of the team was recognized. Men's golf was second at 92 percent.

"I am beyond proud of our fall and winter student-athletes for their achievements both in the classroom and on the field," said Worcester State Director of Athletics Michael Mudd. "Leading the conference in the amount of MASCAC All-Academic selections is a testament to not only our student-athletes, but the engagement of our coaches, administrators, and the entire Worcester State community."
