Dave Lindberg became the equipment manager at Worcester State University in the summer of 2018 after 24 seasons as the head coach of the men's basketball team, compiling an overall record of 281-351. Coach Lindberg earned his 200th win during the 2009-10 season in a triumph against Salve Regina.

Coach Lindberg has instructed 35 All-MASCAC Players which have included four rookies of the year, 16 first-team players, two conference players of the year and seven 1,000 point scorers.

In 1999-2000 Coach Lindberg was also selected by his peers as the MASCAC Coach of the Year after he helped guide the squad to its first regular season championship and tied the program record for wins in a season (19).

Overall, Lindberg directed eight teams to the conference tournament championship game. In 1997-98 and in 1999-2000, both teams were selected to the ECAC New England Basketball Tournament.

A 1991 graduate of Worcester State, Coach Lindberg was a three-year starter and captain for the basketball team while he was also a member of the WSC football and track squads. Following his graduation, Coach Lindberg served as an assistant coach for four years under Coach Tom Moore, who was an assistant at UConn and current head coach of Quinnipiac. Coach Lindberg helped guide the 1992-93 Lancers to the ECAC's and in 1993-94 the squad won the MASCAC Championship and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

In the past, the Lancers have competed in several regional and far away tournaments to play top-notch competition. In 1997-98 the squad went on an eight-day trip to Hawaii to face two DII teams and in 2000 the team went to the V Foundation Classic in Salem, Virginia. WSC has also competed in the Menards Holiday Classic in Eau Clair, Wisconsin, the Mary-Hardin Baylor Tournament in Austin, Texas, and the Washington University Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri. This past year, the Lancers traveled to Newport News, Virginia to play in the Captains Shootout at Christopher Newport, and made their third trip to the Norwich Hockenbury Tournament in the previous season.

In 1997, Coach Lindberg started the first WSU Basketball camp and instructional clinic on campus. Coach Lindberg also helped lead teams during the Bay State games to silver and bronze medals in 1997 and 1996, respectively. Coach Lindberg has been a congressman for the National Association of Basketball Coaches for the last ten years and he is a former President of the Worcester Area Basketball Coaches Association.

From 2010-12 he served as the chairman of the NCAA New England Division III Regional selection committee and he formerly was on the NABC Reese All-Star National Committee that chooses the teams that compete in the Division III All-Star game, which plays the morning of the National Championship.

Coach Lindberg is an Assistant Athletic Director on campus, previously served as a member of the WSU Hall of Fame Committee and he was responsible for remodeling the Oscar Larsson Fitness Center in the old Gymnasium Building. Coach Lindberg also helped create the MASCAC DVD/Video Exchange conference policy.

Coach Lindberg lives in Dudley, Mass. with his wife Melissa with his three children.
