Kevin MacLennan began as the Assistant Athletic Trainer and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Worcester State University in 2003. As an athletic trainer, Kevin is responsible for the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries of Worcester State University’s student-athletes.

In addition to his duties at the Assistant Athletic Trainer, MacLennan also develops and supervises strength and conditioning programs for both individual athletes and teams as requested by coaches.

Prior to his time at Worcester State, MacLennan was an Athletic Trainer at Orthopedic and Sports Medicine where he provided daily athletic training services to Methuen High School athletic teams and junior ice hockey teams. MacLennan provided services to patients in physical therapy clinic, including establishing and coordinating exercise rehabilitation programs for patients as ordered by physical therapists.

MacLennan holds certifications in both athletic training and strength and conditioning. The certifications are as follows: National Athletic Trainers Association Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, National Academy of Sports Medicine Performance Enhancement Specialist, and American Heart Association CPR for the professional rescuer. 

MacLennan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Movement Science from Westfield State, and then his Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with a focus in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention from California University of Pennsylvania.

MacLennan currently resides in Westborough with his wife Nicole and twin children Kiera and Liam.
