Teams, Players and Forfeits

  • Teams shall consist of three (3) to six (6) players.
  • A game cannot be started with fewer than three players on each team.
  • A game shall not be continued with fewer than two players on each team.
    • If a team has fewer than three players at the start of a game or fewer than two players at any point during a game, a forfeit shall be declared.
      • A forfeit shall be scored 3-0.

Gameplay

  • Games shall consist of a single, twenty (20) minute period.
    • The clock shall not stop unless a player is injured.
  • If the game is tied at the end of 20 minutes during the regular season, a single 3 minute overtime period shall be played. If no winner is decided, the game will end in a tie.
  • If the game is tied at the end of 20 minutes during the playoffs, consecutive overtime periods shall be played until one team has more points at the end of an overtime period.
  • Each team shall have 1 timeout per game.
    • In the event of overtime, no extra timeouts will be awarded, but if a team’s timeout has not been used, it shall be carried over to overtime.
  • Games shall be played within the boundaries of a half of a basketball court.
  • All field goals inside the 3 point line will count as 1 point. Behind the line will count as 2.
  • Substitutions may be made at anytime during a dead ball.
  • Possession
    • A toss of the coin determines which team puts the ball in play to start the contest.
    • For the rest of the game, the alternating possession rule is in effect.
    • Every time the ball changes possession, it must be taken back behind the three point line.
    • This must be done even if a shot has not been taken. If a team does not take the ball back properly, then the play is dead at the first shot attempt by the violating team. This will result in a turnover.

Fouls

  • All fouls shall be recorded by the statistician.
  • After a foul has been recorded, the team the foul was committed against shall be given possession of the ball for an inbound pass. There are no shooting fouls.
  • If a player is fouled while shooting and makes the basket, the foul and basket will count and the ball will go over to the other team.
  • After one team has committed 10 team fouls, each foul committed by that team shall award a point to the opposing team.
