  • Worcester State Men's Soccer Announce 2024 Schedule

    Worcester, MA- First year Head Coach Adam Howarth announces the release of the 2024 schedule of the Worcester State Men’s Soccer team. In the first season for Howarth, the Lancers will look to build upon their 5-8-4 and 3-4 conference record to return to the MASCAC Championship this season. The team will be guided in their endeavor by senior captain Nate Lewos and 2022 conference First Team All-Conference selection graduate student midfielder Manny Ramirez, the strong presence of senior forward Mal Hawkins, along with 2024 MASCAC Second Team selections senior midfielder Declan Ryder and junior defenseman Brendan Lower, to lead an impactful group of returners and fresh talent to the team.
  • Worcester State Men's Basketball Announces Al Pettway as New Men's Basketball Head Coach

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Athletic Department, led by Athletic Director Michael Mudd, is pleased to announce the return of Al Pettway ‘94 as the new Men’s Basketball Head Coach. Pettway will serve as the 12th head coach in the program’s 74-year history that has seen three NCAA appearances, most recently with back-to-back appearances in 2022-23 and 2023-24 under departing former Head Coach Tyler Hundley.
  • Five Named to MASCAC Spring Sportsmanship Team

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Athletics Department has five named to this years Spring MASCAC Sportsmanship teams. Selected were Baseball's Mason Bates, Lacrosse's Hannah Leahy, Track and Field's Giovanni Casiano and Eryca Lopes and Softball's Sarah Gosselin. 34 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been honored for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2024 Spring Sportsmanship Teams.
  • Worcester State Women's Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

    Worcester, MA- Head Coach Kevin Cumberbatch, entering his 17th season at the helm of the Worcester Women’s Soccer team has announced the release of the 2024 schedule, where the squad will look to return to the MASCAC post season and grab their fifth NCAA post season appearance under Cumberbatch. The Lancers squad concluded the 2023 season at 6-9-2, 5-2 in the MASCAC, dropping a tight battle to Westfield Stat in the MASCAC semifinals. The team returns the bulk of their talent from last year, while adding in a breadth of talent in their incoming class to complement the skills continually on display. The team returns MASCAC First Team midfielder Erin Condon as she aims to continue her dominance on the pitch success with another standout junior season for the Lancers. Ready to push the team to success alongside Condon is seniors Abby Bond, a dominant midfielder, and Jessica Forbes, who with an impenetrable presence on defense, and Raelyn Callahan, a starting forward with 13 career goals over two seasons with the Lancers.
  • Worcester State Football Announces 2024 Schedule

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Football program, headed up by fifth-year Head Coach Adam Peloquin, officially announced their 2024 Football schedule. The Lancers aim to improve upon their 1-9 record from last season with the help of a seasoned team of veterans. Offensively the Lancers will be guided by the fast-acting feet of senior Nico Holmes along with all five returning starting offensive linemen from last season to help support a strong ground game this season. On defense, Worcester will be helmed by senior fourth year captain John McMasters, who is set to continue as a middle linebacker come the start of the new season, alongside fellow captain, and senior Jayden Caron. Joining McMasters and Caron on defense are seniors Eben Ankomah Gyau and Jamison Metcalf who are primed for breakout season this year.

    A date for the 2024 Worcester State University Women's Lacrosse Fall Prospect Clinic has been officially announced. The annual clinic will be held on Sunday, September 22nd at 1p.m.

  • Lanpher and Bartlett Lead Six Lancers on MASCAC All-Conference Teams

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team came away with two major honors and six named to this years MASCAC All- Conference Teams. Leading this year’s awards was junior Emma Lanpher (Charlton, MA) and senior Emily Bartlett (Lowell, MA) who claimed Player and Pitcher of the Year in the conference.
  • Smith Named to MASCAC All-Conference First Team

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team’s senior Ben Smith (Bourne, MA) was selected to this years MASCAC First Team as a starting pitcher. The Worcester State Baseball team (11-28, 9-12) finished their season falling in the MASCAC Quarterfinals after defeating #3 seed Framingham State in the opening round of action.
  • Softball Falls to Rams in MASCAC Semifinals Matchup
    May 11, 2024
    Worcester, MA- After an exciting back and forth battle with Salem State, Worcester State (27-15, 11-3) would come away with the win and set themselves up with a rematch versus Framingham State (21-18, 11-3). The Rams came away yesterday with the victory in the 13 inning battle but Worcester would look to come away with their first win against the Rams on the season to move onto the Championship.
