Westfield, MA — A total of 1,390 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection
to the league’s Fall/Winter 2023 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball has had two named to the College Sports Communicator Academic 2023 All-District Volleyball Team. Graduate student Camryn Burgio (Quincy, MA) and junior Angela Colonis (Waterford, CT) were both selected by the CSC for this year’s team. Both Burgio and Colonis have been selected to move on to voting for the CSC Academic All-America Ballot after stellar seasons on the court.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – 58 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2023 Fall Sportsmanship Team.
Worcester, MA- Graduate student Camryn Burgio (Quincy, MA) repeats as MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year as the Lancers place three on the MASCAC 2023 All-Conference teams selected by the conference coaches.
Worcester, MA- The second-seeded Worcester State Lancers (13-14, 6-1 MASCAC) faced off against the third-seeded MCLA Trailblazers (20-4, 5-2 MASCAC) in the conference semifinals where the winner moves on to the MASCAC Championship on Saturday.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancer (12-14, 5-1 MASCAC) faced off against the MCLA Trailblazers (19-3, 5-1 MASCAC) in the last game of the season and senior night.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers (12-13, 5-1 MASCAC) faced off against the Keene St. Owls (11-15, 4-4 LEC) in the second to last game of the regular season.
Worcester, MA- Coming off a conference win at Mass Maritime over the weekend, Worcester State looked to add to their conference win tally on the road at Framingham State on Wednesday evening. This was a crucial game for the Lancers, as a victory this evening would put them in solid position to vie for the number two seed in postseason play in the conference finale versus MCLA on November 4th.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team had one selected for this week’s MASCAC Weekly Honors. Graduate student Camryn Burgio (Quincy, MA) was named for the third time this season as the Defensive Player of the Week. The Lancers went 2-1 on the week with victories over Rhode Island College and Mass. Maritime.
Worcester, Mass.- The Worcester State Lancers (10-13, 3-1 MASCAC) traveled to Bourne to take on the Mass. Maritime Buccaneers (4-15, 0-4 MASCAC) in a Saturday afternoon conference matchup.

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers (9-12, 3-0 MASCAC) faced off against conference foe Westfield State Owls (4-15, 3-1 MASCAC) for a second time this season. The Lancers walked away with a win in September in a non-conference game, the final being 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-16).
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team has swept this weeks MASCAC Weekly awards after an impressive 2-1 week that saw the Lancers remain on top of the MASCAC with a pivotal showdown versus Westfield State, who is tied for first place, tomorrow at 7pm.
Worcester, MA- Coming off a 3-2 conference victory over the Bridgewater State Bears, Worcester State travels to Dean College for a Tri-match against the Dean College Bulldogs and the Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors. This was a non-conference matchup for the Lancers as they break up their undefeated stretch in the MASCAC.
Worcester, MA- Coming off a 3-0 sweep of conference rivals Fitchburg State over the weekend, the Worcester State Lancers took a trip to take on Bridgewater State in another conference matchup as they looked to keep themselves perfect in MASCAC play.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team hosted Fitchburg State for a midday Saturday MASCAC matchup. The Lancers are looking to grab their second conference victory and remain unbeaten in MASCAC play.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team returned home for a non-conference matchup with cross-city rival Clark University. This matchup was the annual pink out game sponsored by the Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers traveled to Wentworth Institute for a double match day that would see them take on Wentworth and Rivier University.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team hosted their first conference game of the season, welcoming Salem State to Brissette Court on Tuesday night, where they swept the Vikings in a 3-0 game.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team returned home for just their second date this season as they hosted Westfield State and Connecticut College in an out of conference day of Volleyball fun. The matches were preceded by the alumni Volleyball game attended by several former athletes to grace Brissette Court. Graduate Student Camryn Burgio (Quincy, MA) was also honored prior to the second match in recognition of her 1,000 digs, which was recorded last Saturday versus Suffolk. The Lancers looked to come away with two wins on the afternoon.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team returned to action Saturday afternoon after a two day hiatus, following their victory over cross city rival in WPI. The Lancers look to build off the moment they gained Thursday, as they battle the Keene State Owls and the Suffolk Rams in Boston.

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team was back in action Tuesday night as they hosted their home opener against non-conference foe Regis College. The Lancers are coming off a three set defeat Saturday to Trinity College and look to get back in the win-column against the Pride, from Regis College.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Volleyball team swept the MASCAC Weekly awards as announced by the conference. First year Beatrice Gamboa-Estrella (Simi Valley, CA) and graduate student Camryn Burgio (North Quincy, MA) were honored in the Lancers 3-1 week.
Worcester, MA- The Lancers traveled to Hartford, Connecticut for a double match up that saw them take on Mitchell College and Trinity College Saturday afternoon. Worcester State won the first match against Mitchell with a comeback after five sets 3-2 (25-13, 17-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-12), but after such a battle were unable to come up with the second win so quickly, losing 3-0 to Trinity.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball was back in action tonight as they traveled to conference rival Framingham State for a non-conference rated matchup. The Lancers are coming off a four set victory last night over Anna Maria and looked to extend the streak while sending a statement out to the MASCAC for the season.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers traveled to neighboring Paxton to square off against the 0-2 Anna Maria AMCATS in a weeknight showdown. The Lancers dropped their first two games of the season and aimed to bounce back in the single match contest.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team kicked off their season at the Brandeis Invitational with a double match day that saw them lead off against hosts Brandeis before wrapping up the day versus Salve Regina. The invitational has become a staple of Worcester State's season as they test their talents against some of the top teams in the region.
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team has claimed the third spot in the MASCAC Preseason Coaches poll as voted on by the conference coaches. Worcester State was 4-3 last season, falling just shy of another NCAA post season birth in a loss to Westfield State. The Lancers will look to return the MASCAC trophy to Worcester State behind returners Camryn Burgio, Erin Gaffney and a season cast of both returners and top incoming talent.
