Junior standout Bob Bruso was recently featured in an article by Jen Toland in the Worcester Telegram about playing four-ball with freind and regional rival Jeff Santora as his partner. The pair tied for medalist honors at the MASCAC Championships this past spring.
Hershey, PA --- Junior captain Bob Bruso has been named a PING Division III Third-Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Bruso is the first Worcester State student-athlete to receive the award WSC Hall of Famers Scott Fairbanks and Jim Bombard were honored in 1984.
Hershey, PA --- Junior captain Bob Bruso was one of five golfers from the New England region named to the PING Division III All-Northeast Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Chicopee, MA --- Junior Bob Bruso closed out the mens golf season in fashion as he earned medalist honors at the Elms Blazer Spring Invitational this afternoon at the par 71 Chicopee Country Club. Bruso earned his second straight top finish as he recorded a 74 (+3).
Providence, RI --- Junior captain Bob Bruso earned his second straight medalist honor as he shot a 76 (+4) on the par 72 Triggs Memorial Golf Course at the Rhode Island College spring invitational this afternoon. Bruso tied for top honors earlier this week at the MASCAC Championships.
Millbury, MA --- Junior captain Bob Bruso tied with Salem State's Jeff Santora for first place as they each fired a 74 (+2) this afternoon at the par 72 Blackstone National Golf Course. WSC took home third place in the first conference tournament that has been held since the 1989-90 season.
Sutton, MA --- Junior captain Bob Bruso tied for second this afternoon as he carded a 74 (+2) to help pace the Lancers at the par 72 Blackstone National Golf Course.
Cranston, RI --- Junior captain Bob Bruso propelled the Worcester State men's golf team to a ninth place finish this afternoon in the second round of the Johnson & Wales Wildcat Invitational as he carded a two-day total of 147 (+5), just one stroke off the lead to notch third place.
North Dartmouth, MA --- Junior captain Bob Bruso and freshman Chris Ellis finished four strokes off the lead as they each fired a 79 (+7) to help Worcester State tie for sixth at the first day of the Hampton Inn Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth. The event was held at the par 72 Allendale Country Club.
North Dartmouth, MA --- The Worcester State men's golf team finished the Hampton Inn Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth, in 12th out of 18 teams. The Lancers ended the two-day tournament with a team score of 682 which was 56 strokes off of Elms who won the event held at the par 72 Allendale Country Club.
Stow, MA --- Junior Bob Bruso finished three strokes off the lead to tie for 12th place as helped lead Worcester State to take home 11th at the Lou Flumere Mass Intercollegiates hosted by Bentley College. The event kicked off the spring schedule for the Lancers.
Worcester, MA --- Led by Basketball Times Preseason All-American Maurice Horton, the Worcester State mens basketball team returns ten players and returns two starters from last years squad. With a competitive schedule along with depth and experience, the Lancers look to contend for a MASCAC title this season.
Brewster, MA --- Junior captain Bob Bruso finished in 17th and fourth overall in Division III New Engalnd as he carded a two-day total of 148 to help lead the Worcester State mens golf team at the NEIGA Championships at Captains Golf Course. Bruso was second overall with a score of 148 (+4) on the first day with a 69 (-3) before he fired a 79 (+7) on the second day of competition.
Brewster, MA --- Junior Captain Bob Bruso continued his outstanding fall as he fired a 69 (-3) to finish in second overall at the first round of the 75th annual NEIGA Championships at Captains Golf Course. His back nine score of 32 was the best of the field in the opening round of play.
Worcester, MA --- With the last tournament on the horizon, the mens golf team will prepare themselves this weekend for the three-day NEIGA Championships starting on Sunday. Led by Captain Bob Bruso, the Lancers look to improve upon last years finish sixth place among Division III schools.
Dudley, MA --- Junior captain Bob Bruso notched medalist honors at the Bison Invitational as he fired a round-best 69 (-3) at the par 72 Webster-Dudley Golf Course to help lead Worcster State to a ninth place finish on Sunday afternoon.
Providence, RI --- Mike Horan, Tim Howard and Dan Duclos all finished a stroke off each other as the Men's Golf team finished ninth overall at the Rhode Island College Invitational this afternoon.
Farmington, CT --- Junior Bob Bruso tied for seventh, just six strokes off the lead with a two-day total of 151 to help lead Worcester State finish in sixth at the ECAC Championships at the Tuxis Plantation Country Club over the weekend.
Middlebury, VT --- Junior captain Bob Bruso carded a two-day total of 146 (+4) at the Duke Nelson Invitational to help lead the Lancers tie for ninth at the par 71 Ralph Myhre golf course. Bruso led after the first round with an even par of 71 as he finished the tournament tied for second, just one stroke off of medalist honors.
Williamstown, MA --- Led by junior Bob Bruso, the Worcester State men's golf team competed this weekend at the two-day Williams Invitational at the par 70 Taconic Country Club. Bruso carded a 145 (+5) over the course of the weekend to settle for eighth overall. Bruso finished 10 strokes off the lead of medalist Jeff Santora of Salem State.
Chicopee, MA --- Junior Bob Bruso fired a 75 (+4) to help propel to Worcester State finish in fourth place, ten strokes off the lead, at the Blazer Invitational hosted by Elms. Bruso ended his day tied for second, just two strokes off from medal honors.
