Men's Golf Finishes Hampton Inn Invitational In 12th Place

North Dartmouth, MA --- The Worcester State men's golf team finished the Hampton Inn Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth, in 12th out of 18 teams. The Lancers ended the two-day tournament with a team score of 682 which was 56 strokes off of Elms who won the event held at the par 72 Allendale Country Club.

Junior captain Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA) led the effort as he tied for fifth shooting a two-day total of 155 (+11), just seven off of Pio Pasquale's (Somers, CT) total of 148 (+4) as the senior from Nichols earned medalist honors. Bruso had fired a 79 (+7) in the opening round and this afternoon he ended with a 76 (+4), which was the fifth best total put up on the second day.

The other finishers for WSC included freshman Chris Ellis (Charlton, MA) who carded a 167 (+23) to tie for 22nd while senior Mike Leveroni (Arlington, MA), junior Mike Horan (Billerica, MA) and sophomore Ryan Walker (Hudson, MA) all tied for 74th with scores of 184 (+38).

Worcester State looks to hit the links again next weekend at the two-day Johnson & Wales Invitational.
