Dudley, MA --- Junior captain Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA) notched medalist honors at the Bison Invitational as he fired a round-best 69 (-3) at the par 72 Green Hill Golf Course to help lead Worcster State to a ninth place finish on Sunday afternoon. The victory for Bruso marked the first tournament that he has won this season.
UMass Dartmouth won the team championship with a score of 319 (+31) while WSC ended the round just 12 strokes off the lead (331; +43).
Freshman Chris Ellis (Charlton, MA) carded a solid 82 (+10) as he tied for 20th while senior Dave Urella (Worcester, MA/Burncoat) fired a 89 (-17) as he tied for 43rd. Junior Mike Leveroni (Arlington, MA) and freshman Dan Duclos (Attleboro, MA) rounded out the group as they each tied for 47th with a 91.
The Lancers will take a week off before they compete in the two-day All-New England Tournament which will be held at Captains Golf Course in Brewster.
