Chicopee, MA --- Junior Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA) closed out the men’s golf season in fashion as he earned medalist honors at the Elms Blazer Spring Invitational this afternoon at the par 71 Chicopee Country Club. Bruso earned his second straight top finish as he recorded a 74 (+3).
Worcester State placed second overall as a team as they tallied 326 points, just seven off of first place Elms’s total. Westfield State (332), Franklin Pierce (341), Becker (365) and Mitchell (391) rounded out the field, respectively.
Three golfers ended the contest above 80 strokes as they were paced by senior Mike Leveroni's (Arlington, MA) total of 81 (+10, T7th), sophomore Ryan Walker’s (Hudson, MA) score of 84 (+13, T12th) and junior Dan Ducos’s (Attleboro, MA) card of 86 (+15, T16). Freshman Chris Ellis (Charlton, MA) fired a 90 (+19, 21st) to round out the field for the Lancers.
The Blazer Spring Invitational concludes the spring schedule for the men’s golf team.
