North Dartmouth, MA --- Junior captain Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA) and freshman Chris Ellis (Charlton, MA) finished four strokes off the lead as they each fired a 79 (+7) to help Worcester State tie for sixth at the first day of the Hampton Inn Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth. The event was held at the par 72 Allendale Country Club.
The Lancers are currently knotted with Brandies and Nichols with a score of 338, just 20 off of Elms’s total of 318.
Senior Mike Leveroni (Arlington, MA) carded an 88 (+16) to tie for 46th while third-year Mike Horan (Billerica, MA) and sophomore Ryan Walker (Hudson, MA) each scored a 92, just 20 strokes off the lead to tie for 68th.
