Seven Lancers Named to MASCAC Fall All-Sportsmanship Team

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Student-athletes representing seven Worcester State University fall athletic teams have been named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Fall All-Sportsmanship Team.

Earning spots for the cross country teams were senior Ben Morin (New Braintree, Mass.) on the men's side, and senior Emily Dickson (Marlborough, Mass.) on the women's side.

The women's volleyball team saw sophomore setter Sarah Ward (Townsend, Mass.) earned a spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team, while Worcester State football was represented by senior Anthony Casparriello (Westborough, Mass.).

The MASCAC Champion women’s soccer team was represented by sophomore Fiona Weir (Dorchester, Mass.). Junior Vincent DeMattia (Hampden, Mass.) earned the honor on the men’s soccer team for the second consecutive season.. 

Rounding out the awards for Worcester State was sophomore Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) of the men’s golf team.  

“I am extremely proud of our student-athletes who received All-Sportsmanship honors today,” said Worcester State Director of Athletics Michael Mudd. “All of our student-athletes represent Worcester State so well, which makes this honor extra special.”

Morin, Dickson, Ward, Casparriello, Weir, and Poitras each earned the honor for the first time.
