  • Eight Named to MASCAC 2025 Fall Sportsmanship Teams

    WESTFIELD, Mass. – 64 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2024 Fall Sportsmanship Team.
  • Four Named to MASCAC Field Hockey All-Conference Team

    Westfield, Mass. — Samantha Souza of Bridgewater State and Emma Gniadek of Westfield State have earned the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors and headline the 2025 MASCAC First Team All-Conference squad which is voted on by the coaches from around the conference prior to the conference tournament.
  • Curran Nets Two in MASCAC Championship Matchup

    Worcester, MA- In a hard fought end of the season, the Worcester State Field Hockey defeated Salem State at home and took down the #2 seed Bridgewater State Bears in Double Over Time to advance to their second MASCAC Championship title game. This year’s meeting found the Lancers matching up with annual post-season foe Westfield State in the conference championship with the winner advancing to the NCAA tournament.
  • Lancers Stun Bears in Double OT Victory to Advance to MASCAC Championship

    Worcester, MA- After two close games in the regular season, the #4 seeded Worcester State Lancers headed back out to #2 Bridgewater State in the MASCAC semifinals. In their previous meetings Worcester has fallen 3-2 and 5-4 (in OT) and aimed to change course in the post season to advance to their second MASCAC Championship game.
  • Worcester State Advances Past Salem State for Third Straight Year in MASCAC Playoffs

    Worcester, MA- In a repeat of the previous three MASCAC first round games for the Worcester State Lancers (7-11, 7-5), the Blue and Gold hosted the Salem State Vikings in the MASCAC Quarterfinals. The previous two MASCAC playoffs have seen Worcester and Salem State meet, with the Lancers having the 2-0 post season advantage. Two years ago the Vikings fell to Worcester 4-1 in the MASCAC semifinals, and last season, Worcester would take the 5-2 quarterfinal meeting.
  • Lancers Fall in OT Comeback to Bears on Senior Day

    Worcester, MA- Worcester State Field Hockey wrapped up their regular season in a senior night meeting with Bridgewater State. Worcester needed a win and Fitchburg loss tonight to claim the third seed in the MASCAC postseason tournament with a loss finding themselves as the fourth seed. Tonight’s game was also played in honor of the 2025 senior class of Charlotte MacGregor (Bellingham, MA), Allison Keen (Marlborough, MA), Maggie Nailor (Dartmouth, MA) and Kae Coleman (Attleboro, MA).
  • Five Lancers Score in Team Win over AMCATs

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey (6-10, 6-4) wrap up their final regular season road game tonight as they journey to Anna Maria in a conference rematch. The Lancers previously beat the AMCATs at home 5-0 earlier in the season and are aiming to double up on their win tonight.

    Worcester, MA- After a 2-0 week for the Lancers, senior Charlotte MacGregor (Bellingham, MA) was tabbed this weeks MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week.

    Worcester, MA- In a crucial post season seeding battle, the Worcester State Field Hockey team (5-10, 5-4) take on Salem State this evening. Worcester State is looking to close out their season with a string of wins to carry into the post season tournament.
  • Lancers Outlast Rams for Clutch Overtime Victory
    October 21, 2025
    Worcester, MA- After a thrilling late quarter victory in the grudge match versus Fitchburg State this past weekend, the Worcester State Field Hockey team (4-10, 4-4) journey down route 9 to face off with the Rams. In their previous meeting this season, the two teams went into full shoot out mode before Worcester was able to hold them off for the 7-5 victory.
  • Lancers Claim Revenge Match, Take Down Falcons 1-0
    October 18, 2025
    Worcester, MA- Looking to claim back at win after a tough overtime loss earlier this week, the Worcester State Field Hockey team (3-10, 3-4) aim to avenge their final seconds loss to Fitchburg State earlier in the year. In their previous meeting, the Lancers and Falcons toughed it out to the final minutes before the Falcons eked out the 1-0 victory, something Worcester is looking to avenge in their early afternoon meeting.
  • Lancers Fall in Overtime Battle with Owls
    October 14, 2025
    Worcester, MA- After closing out the first round of conference match ups last week, the Worcester State Field Hockey team (3-9, 3-3) is set to move into their second turn meetings with their conference opponents to close out the regular season schedule. The Lancers began tonight with a meeting with conference leader Westfield State (11-3, 7-0) who they fell to 2-1 in their first meeting back on September 20th.

    Worcester, MA- After claiming two crucial wins in conference last week, the Blue and Gold Field Hockey team (3-8, 3-2) head to Bridgewater State in their bid to keep their conference success in what will be a crucial meeting for post season seeding for the playoffs.
  • MacDonald Named MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week

    Worcester, MA- After a 2-1 week that saw the Lancers jump above .500 in conference play the Lancers were awarded their first MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week award in Field Hockey. After claiming her first collegiate career shut out sophomore Lizzy MacDonald (Medford, MA) was selected for the honor.
  • Lancers Shut Down AMCATS in Homecoming Opener

    Worcester, MA- With two straight conference wins under their belt the Worcester State Field Hockey team (2-8, 2-2) is looking to get above .500 today as they take on Anna Maria College in the first of the Homecoming Triple Header matches today. Worcester State is in full energy mode leading into the game with a combination of Family Weekend and the 2025 Homecoming surrounding the field.
  • Lancers Battle to Final Minutes versus Huskies

    Worcester, MA- Looking to continue their high scoring and winning ways the Worcester State Field Hockey team (2-7, 2-2) hosted Southern Maine on Coughlin Field. The two teams used to be conference rivals until the Lancers left the Little East Conference three seasons ago to help establish the MASCAC conference. In last year’s meeting the Lancers claimed the 1-0 victory over the Huskies in Maine, a feat they hope to accomplish on home turf.

    Worcester, MA- After a thrilling 7-5 victory this Saturday to grab their first conference win, the Worcester State Field Hockey team (1-7, 1-2) is on the road with a trip to Salem State to continue their conference battle. The meetings between these two teams have always been hotly contested and today’s match is lined up to be more of the same as Worcester look to get to .500 in the conference.

    Worcester, MA- After grabbing their first win and conference win of the season, the Worcester State Lancers received a double honor this week in the MASCAC Weekly Awards as first year Kaylie Ciccone (Douglas, MA) claimed the Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors.

    Worcester, MA – Looking to bounce back after a heartbreaking last-second loss to Fitchburg State earlier in the week, the Worcester State field hockey team (0-7, 0-2) returned home Saturday afternoon and broke through in a big way, earning their first win of the season with a 7–5 victory over Framingham State.
  • Lancers Drop Final Second Heartbreaker to Falcons
    September 23, 2025
    Worcester, MA- After dropping the conference opener in the final quarter battle, the Worcester State Field Hockey team (0-6, 0-1) opens up their home conference round of games, hosting Fitchburg State (4-3, 1-1) in a Tuesday night battle. Last year’s home meeting with the Falcons ended in a dramatic fashion taking two overtimes and a shootout before the Lancers claimed the victory.
  • Lancers Fall in Final Minutes to Westfield State in Conference Opener

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State field hockey team opened MASCAC play on Saturday afternoon with a rematch of last year’s semifinal against Westfield State. The Lancers, who fell 1–0 in heartbreaking fashion in that postseason matchup, pushed the Owls to the wire once again before dropping a tight 2–1 decision.

    Worcester, MA- The Lancer’s Field Hockey team (0-1, 0-0) is looking to bounce back into action after a short trip to Clark on Saturday with a meeting with the Wheaton Lyons. Last year saw the Lancers drop a 1-0 battle to the Lyons on the road, a final Worcester would like to reverse on their home turf in the night battle. 
  • Lancers Field Hockey Open Season at Clark

    Worcester, MA – The Worcester State field hockey team opened its 2025 season on the road Saturday afternoon, squaring off against crosstown rival Clark University. After dropping last year’s opener 2–0 to the Cougars, the Lancers were looking for a stronger start but fell 5–0 in this season’s matchup.
  • Lancers Field Hockey Selected Third in MASCAC Preseason Coaches Poll

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team was selected third in the MASCAC 2025 Preseason Poll, voted on by the conference coaches. The Lancers finished last season 8-11, falling to Westfield State, and ultimate conference champions, in the final seconds, 1-0 in the MASCAC semifinal.
  • Worcester State Field Hockey Announces 2025 Season Schedule

    Worcester, MA- After a season removed from the inaugural MASCAC Championship title, the Worcester State Field Hockey team, led by third year head coach Sophia Monopoli, is pleased to announce the 2025 schedule. The Lancers finished last season as the fourth seed in the MASCAC tournament with an 8-11, 6-4 record before falling to Westfield, the ultimate MASCAC Champions, in the MASCAC semifinals 1-0. The Lancers look to avenge the loss this season and return to the NCAA tournament. Worcester will be led by a trio of powerful seniors in Charlotte MacGregor, Allison Keenan and Maggie Nailor who have been a power trio for the Blue and Gold over the last four years.
