  • Five Named to MASCAC Spring Sportsmanship Team

    WESTFIELD, Mass. – 34 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been honored for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2025 Spring Sportsmanship Teams.

    he 2025 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year have been announced in all 10 regions. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
  • Mondesir and Smith Named to D3baseball.com All Region Teams, Mondesir Named Region 2 Rookie of the Year

    The 2025 D3baseball.com All-Region teams have been announced. The 2025 season marks the 13th season that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams, with more than 1,000 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to D3baseball.com staff and contributors from which three teams in each region were determined.
  • Lancers Baseball Taken Down in Offensive Battle with Vikings

    Worcester, MA- with the conclusion of the regular season the Worcester State Baseball team (23-13, 12-9) clinched the fourth seed in the MASCAC Tournament. Kicking off the action the Lancers faced Salem State (17-26, 12-9) in the First Round of the tournament, with the winner advancing to take on Bridgewater State in the double elimination quarterfinals. The Lancers claimed the regular season series 2-1 over Salem State to grab the tiebreaker for home field in today’s meeting.
  • Four Named to MASCAC All Conference Team, Led by Rookie of the year Mondesir and Coach of the Year Price

    Westfield, Mass. — Brett Velzis and Hunter Dean of Mass. Maritime have been named the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Year and headline the 2025 MASCAC All-Conference team as voted by the eight coaches from around the league.
  • Smith Named MASCAC Pitcher of the Week

    Worcester, MA- With the conclusion of the regular season, the lancers have again been awarded Pitcher of the Week honors by the MASCAC. Graduate student Ben Smith (Bourne, MA) was honored for the third time this season as Pitcher of the Week.
  • Lancers Drop Two to Buccaneers on Senior Day

    Worcester, MA- With the final games of the regular season, the Worcester State Baseball team (23-11, 12-7) looks to complete the end of season series sweep over Mass. Maritime. The Lancers claimed the first game win last night in an 8-4 late night battle.This afternoon’s games are also being played in honor of the 2025 senior class which will included Mike Bean (Tampa, FL), Mason Bates (Shrewsbury, MA), Anthony Iamarone (Providence, RI), Tyler Smith (Leominster, MA), Andrew Medina (Boston, MA), and Xavier Quezada (Providence, RI). 
  • Lancers Come up Big in the Ninth for Win over Mass. Maritime

    Worcester, MA- With the final series on the clock, the Worcester State Baseball team (22-11, 11-7) looks to continue their winning ways with an opening nine-inning win over Mass. Maritime in a series that has significant final seeding implications. If Worcester is able to sweep the Buccaneers they are able to put themselves in place for a second seed showing in the MASCAC playoffs.
  • Lancers Make it Four Straight with Win over Owls

    Worcester, MA- With the final non-conference meeting of the season set for today, the Lancers (21-11, 11-7) will host Keene State in a last primer before the final conference meeting versus Mass. Maritime and the start of the postseason next week.

    Worcester, MA- As the final week of the season hits the books, the Lancers (20-11, 11-7) take a step away from conference play to meet up with Saint Joseph (Conn.) for a nine inning battle to test their mettle before playoffs begin next week.

    Worcester, MA- After another rainy weekend forced a shift in the schedule, the Lancers Baseball team (18-11, 9-7) returned to finish out the series with the Salem State vikings in the second to last conference series of the season.
  • Lancers Hit Early Snag, Fall to Vikings

    Worcester, MA- As the final two weeks of the season hit the calendar the Worcester State Baseball team (18-10, 9-6) are aiming to claim the final two series and take a top spot moving into the conference post season. Their second to last test is Salem State with their single game on the road this afternoon against the Vikings (13-14, 8-7) in a crucial battle for positioning.
  • Mondesir Named NCBWA Rookie of the Week
    April 23, 2025
    Worcester State University (Massachusetts) freshman outfielder Christopher Mondesir was a near unanimous selection after logging six extra-base hits, five of which were homers, in a week which saw him finish 11-for-18 at the plate (.618). Mondesir connected on a pair of grand slams, homered four times, and drove home 11 to set a single game record in a victory over Bridgewater State.

    Worcester, MA- After a record setting week by the Worcester State Baseball team, the Lancers again had two selected as MASCAC weekly honorees. For the second time this season graduate student Ben Smith (Bourne, MA) was selected as MASCAC Pitcher of the Week while first year Christopher Mondesir (Roslindale, MA) was named MASCAC Rookie of the Week.
  • Lancers Claim Series with Falcons on 2.5 Game Day
    April 21, 2025
    Worcester, MA- After half a game of action to wrap up an earlier outing from last week against Fitchburg the Lancers (17-9, 6-5) look to get right back down to business for their regularly scheduled doubleheader against the Falcons on the day. After a record breaking Saturday for Worcester that found them fall in the series to Bridgewater, they had their focus set on claiming the series versus the Falcons.
  • Lancers Split with Bears on Record Breaking Day for Worcester

    Worcester, MA- After a tough nine yesterday afternoon, the Lancers baseball team (15-8, 6-4) is back in action and looking to take the series versus the Bears (17-9, 8-2). The series victory is still crucial in determining the top speed in the postseason, so Worcester is extra motivated to come away claiming the series.
  • Lancers Fall to Bears Late in Game One Meeting as Smith Claims 100th Career Hit

    Worcester, MA- After a grueling finish versus Framingham State on Wednesday, the Lancers Baseball team (15-7, 6-3) aim to bounce back in a nine-inning battle in game one of the series with the Bridgewater Bears (16-8, 7-2). In a series that could ultimately determine the top of the conference, each team is focused on one mission, claiming the series.
  • Ninth Inning Battle Sees Lancers Felled by Rams
    April 16, 2025
    Worcester, MA- After completing just 5.5 half inning yesterday before a storm rolled in, the Lancers baseball (15-6, 6-2) were ready to pause that meeting and flip focus to Framingham State (5-19, 3-6)  this afternoon to close out the series season. Worcester has already claimed a 9-0 and 8-6 win over the Rams this season and is aiming for the second conference sweep of the year. 
  • After Days Delay, Lancers Wrap up Home Win over Falcons on the Road

    Worcester, MA- After two big wins on Friday versus Framingham State, the Lancers Baseball team (15-6, 6-2) broke away from the Rams matchup to face off in their first with Fitchburg State this season. The Lancers host this years nine game meeting while the Falcons will host the two sevens on Monday in a noon Patriot’s Day battle/
  • Price and Normandie Tabbed for MASCAC Weekly Honors

    Worcester, MA- For the fourth time this season, the Worcester State Baseball team has been honored for MASCAC weekly honors. Sophomores Gavin Price (Worcester, MA), who has garnered his third weekly honor as pitcher of the week, and Tyler Normandie (Lowell, MA) claim honors for their work this past week in conference.

    Worcester, MA—After a washed-out weekend last weekend and an expected repeat this weekend, the Worcester State Baseball team (13-6, 4-2) is back in action on a Friday afternoon for the second straight week as they journey to Framingham State to face off for two against the Rams.

    Worcester, MA- After weather and shifting schedule played havoc with the Lancers Owls meetings over the last week Worcester State (13-5, 4-1) will now make a return trip to Westfield this afternoon to take the mound first as the home team in the traveling series. The Owls and Lancers met last Friday where each team managed to claim a win with today’s game being the deciding factor in the season series between the two teams.

    Worcester, MA- A match two years in the making, the Worcester State Baseball team (11-4, 3-0) journey’s to Wheaton College to face off with the Lyons. The teams were initially to meet both last season and earlier this year but weather has played a factor in moving this nine-inning action to Wheaton today.
  • Lancers Complete Sweep of MCLA Behind Iamarone Career 100th Hit

    Worcester, MA- With the opening conference win under their belt versus MCLA from yesterday, the Worcester State Baseball team (9-4, 1-0) looks to complete the Sweep over MCLA (2-10, 0-1) with an afternoon matchup this afternoon held at Williams College. The Lancers and Trailblazers will go for two seven-inning battles in the afternoon light to close out their conference regular season meetings this season.

    Worcester, MA- After a thrilling Spring break trip that found Worcester State Baseball (8-4, 0-0) come home with seven more wins on the season, the Lancers have shifted their focus to conference play as they host the conference opener this afternoon in a single nine-inning battle with the MCLA Trailblazers (2-9, 0-0).

    Worcester, MA- After a successful 7-3 week down in Florida, the Worcester State Baseball repeated on their dual MASCAC weekly honors as sophomore Gavin Price (Worcester, MA) and first year Matthew Direnzo (Leicester, MA) claimed pitcher and rookie of the week honors.

    Worcester, MA- with the final day of Spring Break action for the Lancers Baseball team (7-3,0-0), Worcester State wraps up the trip with a seven inning double header versus Hamilton before their journey home tomorrow morning.
  • Lancers Take the Split with St. Norbert

    Worcester, MA- After an early Spring Break trip loss to Trinity, the Lancers Baseball team (6-2, 0-0) have been on a dominant role in both pitching, defensive and offensive sections of the game to claim four straight wins. Worcester is looking to end the day with  eight wins as they go for two sevens versus St. Norbert in a midday Thursday matchup.
  • Lancers Claim Second Sweep, Pull Double Victories over Juniata

    Worcester, MA- In their third day of Spring break action, the Worcester State Baseball team (4-2, 0-0) is looking for their third and fourth straight win after sweeping St. Lawrence on St. Patrick’s day. After a day for practice between, the Lancers aimed to continue their offensive success that has been coming on strong in their trip to Florida.
