Worcester, MA- After a stellar record setting week, first year Chris Mondesir was unanimously selected by the NCBWA as the DIII Rookie of the Week.
Worcester State University (Massachusetts) freshman outfielder Christopher Mondesir was a near unanimous selection after logging six extra-base hits, five of which were homers, in a week which saw him finish 11-for-18 at the plate (.618). Mondesir connected on a pair of grand slams, homered four times, and drove home 11 to set a single game record in a victory over Bridgewater State.
Mondesir is just the fourth honoree for Worcester State with a weekly award from the NCBWA, with the last coming in 2022 when current graduate student Ben Sith (Bourne, MA) received the honor.
Worcester State will be back in action on Friday at 3pm when they head out to Salem State to continue their conference swing of games.
