    WESTFIELD, Mass. – 37 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been honored for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2024 Winter Sportsmanship Team.
  • Lancers Wrap Up Season in First Round Versus Falcons
    February 27, 2025
    Worcester, MA- In the opening round of the MASCAC Tournament the #5 seed Worcester State Lancers will journey to the #4 seeded Fitchburg State Falcons. The Lancers and Falcons have split on the season with each team taking the away win, boding solid odds for Worcester who not only has the most recent win over Fitchburg but the 4-3 road win on January 30th.
  • Worcester State Pushes Game to Final Minutes in Battle on Senior Night

    Worcester, MA- With the final game of the regular season the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (11-11-2, 8-7-2) is battling it out for fourth seed finish for the MASCAC Tournament. With a few point lead on Fitchburg State, who’s game versus Westfield was postponed in the second period on Thursday, the final seeding is up in the air but a win tonight over Salem State would help the Lancers chances in claiming the home ice advantage in the opening round action.
  • Lancers Grab Revenge with Win on the Road over Rams

    Worcester, MA- In a crucial end of season revenge match the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (10-11-2, 7-7-2) travel to Framingham State to grab a needed win for a first round home game in the MASCAC tournament. The Lancers met the Rams just nine days ago where Framingham grabbed the 3-2 win, and the Lancers are looking to reclaim the ground on the Rams home ice tonight.
  • Lancers Fall in OT Battle to Anna Maria

    Worcester, MA- As the final games of the regular season hit the schedule, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (10-10-2, 7-6-2) are back in the conference schedule as they take on Anna Maria in a rescheduled meeting. This meeting between the two teams was initially scheduled for February 6th, but the severe weather of the day forced the game back to today as the Lancers play their 5th game in just 10 days. Worcester is currently in the hunt for a top four finish in the conference as they look to host an opening round home game in the conference tournament.

    Worcester, MA- The Men’s Ice Hockey team (10-9-2, 7-6-2) is in the final grind of the regular season with their third game in a week as they look to grab the end of season wins to solidify their potential fourth seed finish in the MASCAC Tournament. Taking a breather from the hunt tonight, will send the Lancers north to Keene State in a chance for a rare late season out of conference battle.
  • Lancers Fall in Shootouts to Trailblazers

    Worcester, MA- After dropping their first game in five matches this past Tuesday, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (10-9-1, 7-6-1) continue to hunker down into the home stretch as they continue their stretch of 3 games a week this week with their Thursday night meeting with MCLA. Their first meeting of the season saw the Lancers squeeze out a 4-3 win, something they hope to expand upon tonight.
  • Lancers Hold Second Annual Dog Toy Loss in Loss to Rams
    February 11, 2025
    Worcester, MA- After claiming their fourth straight win and a crucial post season win versus UMass-Dartmouth last saturday, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (10-8-1, 7-5-1) are looking to make it five in a row tonight as they host Framingham State. Tonight’s game is also the second Annual Dog Toy Toss to benefit the Worcester Animal Rescue League in which the fans are encouraged to bring a dog toy to donate, that will be thrown on the ice at the Lancers first goal. Last year’s event brought in over 100s in dog toys and donations.
  • Lancers Rise Above Corsairs in Cancer Awareness Game for Armit
    February 08, 2025
    Worcester, MA- Tonight’s Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey Game (9-8-1, 6-5-1) is being played in honor of sophomore student-athlete Evan Armit, who was earlier this season diagnosed with Melanoma. The team has rallied around the cause, and with the help of the Rosen Cancer Awareness Fund, designed Black Jersey’s to be worn during the game with donations and bids being accepted leading up to the game. Proceeds from tonight’s game will go to the Armit Family and the Rosen Fund, created by Gregg '86 and Pam '87 Rosen, which aims to provide a robust curriculum that supports peer to peer education regarding early cancer detection. Raising Awareness in our young people, particularly Worcester State students in the field of public health, can effectively expedite these important educational initiatives to curb the prevalence of late stage cancer and increase longevity.
  • Friedlander Named MASCAC Goalie of the Week

    Worcester, MA- After a dominant 2-0 week for the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team, the Lancers had one of their own selected to the MASCAC weekly honors. For the second time this season senior Wyatt Friedlander (Lake Placid, NY) was selected as the MASCAC Goalie of the Week.

    Worcester, MA- In a crucial conference game, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (8-8-1, 5-5-1) takes on the Westfield State Owls at the Fidelity Bank Ice Center. Worcester State is on a perfectly timed surge in conference, having just claimed the win from FItchburg State 4-3 on Tuesday to further solidify their seeding in the conference, with today’s game playing a potentially pivotal role in the final standing.

The Falcons are currently in the middle of the conference pack with a game up on the Lancers, so a win tonight could help solidify the top of the conference finish to Worcester at the end of the season.

In the last meeting between the two teams, Rivier managed to walk away with the shoot out victory, something Worcester is looking to correct tonight.

    Worcester, MA- In a return to Fidelity Bank Ice Center for 2025, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (6-6-1, 3-3-1) take on top in the conference Plymouth State. In the previous meeting this season the Panthers claimed the victory but Worcester is primed to rocket to victory over Plymouth to move to over .500 in both conference and regular season records.

Worcester is looking to extend their four game win streak to five tonight as they captured the victory over NE-10’s Southern New Hampshire to wrap up 2024.

    Worcester, MA- For the final home game of the 2024 Athletic season, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (3-5-1, 1-2-1), hosts newest MASCAC addition the Anna Maria AMCATS. Worcester State is looking to even out their conference record against an anticipated top contender in the conference in their final MASCAC meeting before the holiday break.

    Worcester, MA- In a return to conference play the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (2-5-1, 0-2-1) take a trek west to Amelia Park Arena to square up with the Westfield State Owls. Westfield (4-4, 1-1) is returning from over a week off the ice, with their last meeting a 3-2 loss to Johnson and Wales while the Lancers are coming off their 2-0 win versus Post on Saturday. Worcester looks to grab their first conference win of the season over the Owls to kick off their mid holiday meetings.

    Worcester, MA- After another DII battle and victory for Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey, the Lancers have had one selected for a MASCAC Weekly Honor. Senior Jakub Kubik (Uherske Hradiste, Czech Republic) was named the MASCAC Goalie of the Week.
  • Lancers Shutout Eagles in Post Thanksgiving Battle

    Worcester, MA- In a post Thanksgiving battle, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (1-5-1, 0-2-1) welcomes Post University to Fidelity Bank Ice Center for one of their final games of the 2024 stretch of the season. The meeting with post is one of the Lancers final four games of 2024 and the second to last non-conference meeting of the year, and one of only three that remain on the season for Worcester.

    Worcester, MA- The Blue and Gold (1-4-1, 0-1-1) return to action after an action packed shootout finally on Thursday night. The Lancers are back in action tonight to take on the Fitchburg State Falcons in their third conference match on the season.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (1-3, 0-0-0) remain on the road tonight as they begin their MASCAC slate of games. The Lancers begin their season with perennial powerhouse Plymouth State on their home ice, in a flash back to the end of the 2023 season that saw these two meet in the MASCAC Championship.
  • Lancers Downed By Rams in Non-Conference Battle

    Worcester, MA- After a stretch of games on home ice, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (1-2-0, 0-0-0) is on the road tonight to Suffolk to take on the Rams in an out-of conference matchup. This is the last prep game for the Lancer men before the kick off their MASCAC season on Friday, and is their last chance for a stretch to start working out and testing some lines before gathering conference points.

    Worcester, MA- After a thrilling opening weekend that saw Worcester State (1-1-0, 0-0-0) claim their first victory of the season over Assumption in the WooCup Consolation match, the Lancers returned to home ice tonight to take on the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs (0-2-0, 0-0-0). 
  • Lancers Claim Victory in Battle of the Rink over Assumption

    Worcester, MA- After a hard battle to kick off the season versus Nichols College on Friday night in the opening game of the WOOCup, the Worcester State Men’s Ice Hockey team (0-1-0, 0-0-0) is right back in action to take on Assumption University in the Consolation match. The meeting will be the first meeting between the teams in two years, and the first of the NE10 matches for the Lancers this season.
