How it Happened:
The Lancers would open up the fireworks early as a goal from senior forward Brigham Neuhold (Edmond, OK) would help the momentum of Worcester as they looked to win 2 in a row, as they grabbed an early 1-0 lead just two minutes into the game. Senior goaltender Wyatt Friedlander (Lake Placid, NY) was on point in the night, playing solid defense, preventing the Owls from opening up their scoring.
The Lancers opened up the second period strong again looking for the quick score to extend their lead but the owls defense would hold them off. Worcester was just as strong on defense, preventing the Owls offense from gaining any momentum. Through two periods Friedlander had 15 saves and was on point to ensure that the Owls remained scoreless in the period and was primed to do the same in the final 20 minutes.
Worcester would open up the third looking more defensive but still showing fight as they looked to maintain the lead through the final period against the Owl offense. Westfield would put their own attempt in to extend the game but the Blue and Gold would shut down each attempt. Friedlander would finish with 22 saves as he and Neuhold lead Worcester to victory 1-0 against the Owls for their first conference win of the season and second in a row.
